  • Can you give me some tips and hints for building up a Fan Page for a non-denominational Wedding Officiant?

  • @amyhallbiz, just design a page having beautiful bride and a handsome groom, take care not to depict any particular religion or cast culture because it will restrict your page to certain community. Moreover, install some useful apps like poll, fan of the week and static iframe tab and contactme. This will help you maximize use of fb for interacting with prospective customers. Another point of care, try to make a habit of uploading pics on regular time (it will make audience involvement easy), also, create events, invite public. Make ur fan page bit glossy and attractive by putting a CALL TO ACTION, like call them to like a page and in return give them few tips for wedding makeup or anything that makes their wedding better but make sure u give them tips free because they liked your page. Let me know if i can do anything else for you.

Consider all things wedding.  Cakes, dresses, venues, invitations, photography etc.  You might “like” these pages and reveal these likes on the left side of your page.  When folks start making their wedding plans all of these things just tie in.

And of course don’t forget the hotel for those out of town guests.  :-)

    Yours in Hospitality, Cindy

  • @amyhallbiz

Great advice from @cyndos.  People like 1 stop shopping, make it easy for them!

Silver Magpies – silver makes a great gift for the new couple, the bridal party, and don’t forget a gorgeous cake server for that exquisite cake! ;)

  • @nancystuckwisch @cyndos  @moinshaikh I’ve put up a fan page with a very nice profile graphic… liked vendors in my area and I’m getting slow traction with this page. I don’t have a fan gate on it yet… Just not sure how successful those are. I was hoping someone out there would have a suggestion as to some large Fanpages with the same demographic that I could go to and get lots of likes in a little bit of time.

  • @amyhallbiz I’ve had really good success with a fangate.  I use pagemodo, and have it set so that people do not have to like in order to get to my wall, but if they do like they get a coupon code.

I really began working on my FB page on September 1.  At that time I had well under 100 likes.  I did a couple of contests and have been diligent about posting once a day and really interacting with other people’s pages.

I believe the growth in my numbers 320+ as of now is mainly due to being sociable.  I don’t just give other posts a thumbs up.  I also leave a comment.  As a page owner you ALWAYS love it when people leave comments and are more likely to go investigate someone who regularly interacts with your stuff. I’d say well over 200 of my likes came to me this way.

I don;t think there is anyway to get lots of quality likes in a short period of time (unless something goes viral…and we all hope for that!)

  • Forgot to say…. what is your new fanpage…I’d be happy to like it! :)

  • @amyhallbiz Part of our business is wedding receptions, and I’ve had nice success with going outside of FB and promoting. Luckily, in our area we have large posting sites and forums that you can post in regularly, so take a look for some of those type sites in your area. I’ve been delving into blogging recently, and just posting every so often or starting topics that have links to our FB has been helpful.

Also, if you go to http://www.fiverr.com, you could pay someone who can boost your likes by A LOT.

  • @amyhallbiz what is your page?

  • @cyndos Very true! A friend of mine just put up a FB business page called ourweddingwebsite.us.  She is looking to grow her following by cross promoting other pages in the same niche, and featuring them on her page as well!

  •  @leecg   @nancystuckwisch  The fan page is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rev-Terry-Hall-Wedding-Officiant/197275740310231

He doesn’t have enough likes to even get a vanity url yet. This is just a part time job for him. He has some wedding planned for 2012, but not the 3 every weekend that he’s shooting for.

@nancystuckwisch Lots of great ideas! Did you target other wedding professionals with your page or couples getting married? What is your business and what type of contests did you run?

  • @coreybuller  Did you ‘buy’ likes? If you did, did it help you to get other fans? I wonder if this really helps. What is your experience with this?

  • @amyhallbiz I’m an antiques dealer – sterling silver for the table and bar is my specialy. Lots of good stuff for wedding gifts, special serving pieces for the reception, etc, etc.Http://Www.facebook.com/silvermagpies

  • @amyhallbiz I didn’t personally buy likes, but a friend of mine who just launched a website did that and he said his SEO went up decently and that he has found moderate success. I’m a firm believer in self-promotion and organic fan building, but if you find that building a huge amount of fans quickly just to have the numbers is beneficial, so this Isuzu certainly the best way to go.
