I work in education marketing overall and would love to network with others in the field and exchange different ideas and strategies that we may find beneficial, especially in regard to standardizing a social media posting calendar. I have different programs to post for and find that I repost some and come up with others that direct to our webpage. I would love suggestions on different timelines or possible content suggestions to drive toward prospective students.

I was a teacher for 7 years (both substitute and full time), and currently my day job is as an eLearning Developer for a fortune 100 company. I’m a real newbie to online business, but am interested in learning as much as I can (I’m a life long learner), so any info you can provide would be much appreciated! Thanks!

The company I work for actually coordinates and develops relationships between an existing University Nursing program and a local hospital system to develop the didactic/theory coursework to an online format and working with the hospital to coordinate clinicals. Our prospective students are extremely targeted so much of our marketing has to be directed to reach these very specific individuals who are searching for our type of nursing programs. With our education marketing we must determine how to reach “our” prospects and how to keep them engaged throughout their journey to applying for our program.
With your background I would think your skills would be extremely helpful for course development and potentially course conversion to different formats. If you are looking to be more in the marketing area I recommend trying to find the niche of the prospects for your specialty programs and determine what they need and are looking for specifically.

And you’re spot on about “course development” and “course conversion to different formats” as I do both in my current position.I am interested in the marketing/ promotional side of things. And as someone who used to be an indie moviemaker (and wants to leverage my knowledge somehow), I find that I’m drawn the most to helping artists like filmmakers, writers, actors, musicians, et al use social/ new media to promote their work. So, I want to learn as much as I can. : )Thanks again for responding and sharing your insights!

Working on the back side of education @alexandrabriggs. Just getting started on a project for a local community college foundation.
After the database is set up, I’ll be working on a development (Fundraising) web site. The principle is the same. Showcasing what successful students are enjoying professionally and personally. Creating an engaging online environment. Educating the community about the value of the school.

@alexandrabriggs Web site isn’t yet together. It uses proprietary software, so I need to go to training for it first. I’m sure we will profile students. There is already a Facebook page for the college and there is a Mobile app. But those are specific to the Marketing dept for the college, and I’m working from the other end of things.
