Anyone else have ”Pages Feed” yet? (10 posts)

  • I know as a Facebook Developer I get a lot of Facebook beta-tested products, but I just received a new tab for “Pages Feed” in my sidebar (underneath the links to pages I manage), which is great–you can see ALL updates from ALL pages you’re subscribed to! Is this showing up for many people yet? If gets more mainstream rollout, I’m definitely going to direct my fans to this.

  • I saw some link in a tech crunch article to access it so i can see it. No link in my left hand menu yet though.

I just don’t think the bulk of users will remember to go to a separate feed to look at biz pages. I don’t think this is a viable option. The amount of people viewing this feed will be very low. Page posts must remain integrated amongst your friends posts otherwise the whole system breaks down IMO.

  • just got it…it is nowhere near complete, it’s all over the place at the moment

  • I’ve got it, and agree that it is a good feature. The key for people to understand is that it won’t mean your fans will see fewer of your posts – in fact, it may mean they see more.

The new page feed won’t change the number of your page’s posts that show up in your fan’s newsfeeds, but what it does mean is that if people have chosen to only see a few of your posts in their news feeds, they can now visit their page feed to see all of the posts from pages they’ve liked.

  • @courtney_rri  I’m very frustrated – I’m signed up as a developer too but I don’t have it yet!

  • @courtney_rri Yup, noticed I have it in my left bar since this afternoon. Pretty cool and seems to counter to some extent the criticism about FB blocking posts with its EdgeRank algorithm.

  • Sounds great. I don’t use my browser based Facebook that much anymore. Probably 90% of my Facebook time is spent on mobile (Android specifically) and in my opinion, the mobile app still has ways to go. Wonder when we’ll be able to fully utilize the mobile platform…create ad campaign, create new pages, post as “xx” company you manage. Although maybe that last item is working?

I want to be able to drop in on a client and make changes while working on a tablet.

  • @courtney_rri I got it couple days ago. But it doesn’t make any sense to me. My common newsfeed displays feed from pages i have liked and this new page feed also displays same feed from same pages. I mean my newsfeed shows feed from friends and pages and then the separate page feed displays feed from pages i have liked. Don’t know if they are going to eliminate all the page feeds from that common newsfeed and if they will transfer all the feed from pages to this new page feed.Let’s see how it goes.

  • oh  great…lol….another  facebook  thing  to  try and understand..

..one thing im  pretty sure of,~~~ if   the  fans  have to  do anything extra im  not   too interested……  i just want to pop up on their page  without any  effort on their part….thats  the  beauty of  facebook for  my marketing….  then itsmy  job not to bore them to  unliking me…

  • I don’t have it yet, but it doesn’t sound like it’s fully developed or a worthy addition at this point. I agree that folks are less likely to see content if they have to click a separate tab to view hidden posts.

Do you think it’s just being tested or will be made a default feature?
