Any one successful using contests with b2b clients (2 posts)

  • I ask because after giving this some thought I realized it may be more difficult to have the same results with contests for b2b clients as with b2c.

The idea of a contest is to create something that would go viral and be spread around, and since businesses that cater to consumers are more likely to have fans with similar interests, consumers who share are likely to see their friends sharing the contest as well.

With the business who caters to other businesses, they’re not as likely to have friends with similar interests. As an example, if I a business were market web design services to their market, the businesses who see their contest as something they are interested in will most likely have consumers for friends that have no interest in web design.

Am I making a valid assumption, or have any of you seen contests work favorably to b2b?

  • as a business if i were being   asked to be involved in a contest   i would  think  this is  silly.and  very light weight and  kind of out of  place….  …unless  the prize is a new  truck…or  something  really   huge……as a  business i wouldnt   bother with entering  a  contest……but i  dont on a  consumer level  either.im  busy….

we sell to other  businesses  a lot…and  what i try to get across is…YOU CAN MAKE MONEY HERE …figuring   thats what they  really  care about…<a href="mailto:HERE…@scottprock“>.   ..@scottprock
