Even if they like my page and are commenting on it, I can’t find them when I go to tag and start typing their name – even their whole name. For some reason FB has (even more) limiting restrictions on pages and I don’t know how to get around this?

You can only tag people on a page if they have commented on that particular post.

you also have to have your fan page be a fan of their fan page to be able to tag them outside that post. @sheridanmills

They are people (personal identities on FB) and not pages that are liking and commenting on my posts so I can’t like their pages or tag them.
Does this make sense? I just want to tag the people who have already commented and it doesn’t work.

@sheridanmills As I said before, if they have commented on that particular post then you should be able to tag them in follow-up comments.

Again, you missed the point, but thanks anyways I think I have worked it out for myself. If you are A FAN PAGE, then you can’t actually tag people. At all. Only other pages. I have people commenting on ‘that particular post’ on my FAN PAGE and I can;t tag them for this reason. Ever.

Shish. W’re going around in circles here. Exactly how do you do this is my question and why I am here. Sorry if I am missing something here, but I really can’t see how you do this. Argh. I am logged in as my page, people have commented on a picture. I try to tag that picture and start typing the name of the person who has commented on that picture. Only ‘pages’ come up in the name field. Not people. If there is something I am missing here then please do let me know.

@sheridanmills Ahhhh Penny drops. So sorry, Sheridan. Gotcha. The person who you are trying to tag will need to allow you to do this. There is a privacy option that stops others from tagging you.

@sheridanmills @russellallert Yes, you are now both correct You can’t Tag people in a photo from a Page ever. What Russell was saying before is also correct - there are different terms for tagging – tagging in a photo and tagging in a thread or status update which make it confusing!

Are you messaging these people requesting to tag them in a photo? Maybe then you could get them to accept it… Also, you could send them the photo in a private message if you are just trying to share it.
