  • @susan-townsend I’m looking forward to what our club members say on this one. So far I’ve stayed away from fancy fan pages because once a person goes to one they never come back, as your information shows up in their steam.

  • 1 : About making pages. It depends on your skills, however facebook has really very easy to go interface and does not take big efforts to create a page for business. Simply just go https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.phpChoose business category, enter name and address, and create your page! Once it is created, just fill it up with logo, cover photo, basic information etc. (But you gotta be very careful in selecting category: If yours is business, there are many subcategories, or if you are creating fan page for celebrity or nonprofit or community topics etc., there are separate blocks of categories for them)
2: When it comes to use images, most businesses prefer to use their own, like their logos, products’ and brands’ images, office images etc. If you can afford you can go for buying royalty free images as well.
3: Your third question is the one which hundreds of thousands of marketers keep looking for. So to be honest, it can not be answered in a single line or a post of text here. I would rather suggest you to go through one old post that our leading member made here:
4: There is no such limit on number of pages you can manage for now. Refer (https://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=154425331291869)
5: For adding places nearby you, you can use your mobile fb app. Login to fb from your phone, select nearby, tap on check-in button, type in the name and add description of the place. That’s all. https://www.facebook.com/help/?faq=175921872462772
6: This last question is still tricky. But many page owners have successfully managed to boost their web traffic just by using their fb pages. But this needs constant marketing, free giving, contest and other elements of fan engagement.
Hope this helps! Its time to put a stop here for me for now :)

  • @moinshaikh great answers! I would add to some of it though– make sure you know Facebook’s rules and regulations regarding the use of your logo and doing special offers in your cover photos….so many pages that I see are not exactly following the rules. addition to number 3- Growing your fan base is a huge question…try using an eblast to your current email list, offering special offers or discounts and maybe a contest or two once you have a few fans.

The last question is a great one-and I say YES it helps on traffic to your website as long as you continually link back to it. SEO is also boosted- in mostly the “about” section of your page. Make sure you have plenty of information in that area and the best keywords are important.

  • @nicole-allen Thanks!Yes you are right, many companies (even big brands) do fail when it comes to follow cover guidelines. Most common mistake they make is they put their contact info (either phone num or email or web url) which is strictly not allowed in cover photos. Rules are :

    1) No phone, email, url or any other contact info,

    2) No call to action like “like us”, “download now”, “get free stuff now”, “buy now” etc.,

    3) No price details of your product/services on cover photo

  • Thanks so much!!! Everyone has given me much to explore and read up on and to see if I am following the rules. Thanks so much!

  • I do pubic relations and promotions primarily for rock bands, singers songwriters etc. I have a major problem creating name ID especially for unsigned artists…am I in the right place? thought?

  • @bob-ahl Yes mate, can you please describe your question in details? I mean what username you are trying to get for your page and what is the error message you are getting.
