Wordpress Problem: Please HelpI I II (7 posts)

  • I just updated my Mac Operating System to 10.6 and I suspect that has something to do with my inability to load images. I checked the Wordpress forum but the answers were four years old and addressed much earlier systems. Does anyone know how to restore the abiiity to load images?

I get the message that the image is empty. Please load something more substantial. (which is baloney).

Thanks. I have a whole series of images I need to load!

I am using the latest version of Wordpress for Mac.

  • I am not a MAC user, so this may be baloney, but what on earth is WordPress for MAC?  If your site is running on your host, on the internet, the uploading of images has nothing to do with your MAC … does it??!

  • I supplied that information in case it might make a difference in finding the solution. I have no idea why an operating system should make a difference but it is the only variable and so it may have sparked the problem.

You may be correct that it is baloney. Still trying to find an answer though.

I have tried several things I read in Wordpress forums and so far no luck.

  • Hi Judith, have you tried getting your Mac to check for updates as it might be missing an updated software element (like Flash etc) that it needs to be able to work with Wordpress’ latest image upload function?

    Worth a try.

  • @judithgotwald Did you do an update to WordPress itself? The Mac update shouldn’t make a difference unless it changed something in Safari that isn’t letting you use the browser correctly. Another option is to download another browser like Chrome and see if you can upload with it. That would point to a Safari issue.

  • Did you get your issue fixed? Are you using WordPress.com or WordPress.org?

  • This was at last resolved. I migrated the site to a non-Wordpress host. I started using Chrome as a browser, which I’m not enjoying but can live with (too many clicks to do simple things). Meanwhile, after two weeks of corresponding with Wordpress, it was suggested that when loading photos on Safari I press Command/Shift/R and that would force the browser to re-access the code. This restored my ability to load art but I still can’t use the CMS coding shortcuts.

So, I guess I’m stuck with Chrome as a browser. Thanks to all who offered advice.
