Wordpress 3.4.2 (3 posts)

  • I recently upgraded one of my sites from old-fashioned html to wordpress.

Just this morning, I moved the files from a http://www.site.com/wordpress folder to the main root directory.

The server that I use (godaddy) said they can no longer provide automatic upgrades for some reason.

While working around, I purchased backupbuddy for my sites, downloaded the plug-in and was trying to do some backup with that.

Long story short, I “updated” to 3.4.2 and now I can’t log-in to my dashboard.

GoDaddy rep found a http://wordpress.org/support/topic/upgrade-to-34 and told me I needed to follow the directions – downgrade to 3.4.1 by uploading it to the FTP for my site.  I uploaded the zip files copy to my site, but don’t know how to manually finish the downgrade.

    Can someone please help!!!!!

  • @deereinhardt Hi Dee. Usually all you have to do is overwrite the WordPress files and then go back to the admin dashboard of your website. That’s what I’ve had to do in the past to fix a few strange things that happened during an upgrade… let us know how it turns out!
