@phil-mershon I like what the Canadian Tourism Commission have been doing online over the past few years: dedicated Youtube channel, blog & guest bloggers, active twitter handle @ctccct and promos in the US via twitter walls, Facebook, web and great media room, etc.
Also in the travel sphere, the folks at KLM Dutch airlines are among the most innovative. I wrote a blog post on the subject back in september 2011, and since then they came out with yet another new initiative: choosing seat, and who you can sit with, via social media. Lots of coverage on this topic, but I would suggest this article.
