What companies are nailing it with their social media presence? (11 posts)

  • Hey everyone,I’m doing some intelligence gathering for Social Media Examiner and would love it if you would post the name and link of any companies you think are doing a stellar job with social media. Could be their blog, or the way their blog is integrated with other social platforms. I’ll let you determine what facet impresses you.

One request: please don’t promote your own company (let someone else do that!). I’m just looking for the companies that you watch and/or admire. They can be any size and would love a mixture of B2B and B2C.

    Thanks in advance.

  • I nominate Domino’s Pizza:

    Website: http://www.dominos.com/

    Blog: http://more.dominos.com/

  • @phil-mershon I would nominate Verizon FiOS for their Twitter support. They helped me troubleshoot the same issue twice (long story) and it was much easier than calling or going online. I believe their handle is @VerizonSupport.

  • @phil-mershon I like what the Canadian Tourism Commission have been doing online over the past few years: dedicated Youtube channel, blog & guest bloggers, active twitter handle @ctccct and promos in the US via twitter walls, Facebook, web and great media room, etc.

Also in the travel sphere, the folks at KLM Dutch airlines are among the most innovative. I wrote a blog post on the subject back in september 2011, and since then they came out with yet another new initiative: choosing seat, and who you can sit with, via social media. Lots of coverage on this topic, but I would suggest this article.

    Cheers,

  • Allstate managed a complaint I posted on Twitter really well.  They’re monitoring all of their social media channels (including keyword matches for their company name) and they engage quickly and personally with most/all commenters.

Pretty impressive.  I talked to the SoMe manager at Allstate at a recent social business conference (JiveWorld ’11) after he attended my Twitter “Support in 140 Characters” session.  All around knowledgable guy, they have good monitoring tools, and their engagement strategy is working really well.

  • It’s sad that all the examples are only large companies.

on that note i’d like to plus in to companies.

facebook.com/roku – they handle there tech support on the wall. Really interesting, if you go to there site, it says go to our facebook page for support or they used to do that. I did’t check… lol.

  • @phil-mershon I think the Get Elastic blog by Elastic Path (ecommerce) is fantastic.

  • taco bell has been using it’s online presence to connect with it’s customers, pretty well.

  • @phil-mershon I also like @DomVAPower for Dominion Power of Virginia. Their tweets are fun, timely and useful.

  • Thanks @kc_kreative!

  • Great information. Thanks
