  • Hi everyone!

If you’re struggling to figure out how to take your blog to the next level or to meet specific goals with your blog, then a blog review might be the answer!

I would like to invite everyone in the Blogging club to submit their blog for a constructive public review. If you would like to participate, simply enter your blog URL in this thread along with any particular goals you are trying to meet or pain points.

I will then select one blog per week in order that they are submitted on this thread and start a weekly Blog Review thread for the featured blog with some suggestions about the particular goal you are looking to achieve or some general tips on SEO, social media, content, etc. I will then open up the floor for everyone in the group to chime in with their suggestions.

Sound good? Then please start submitting your blog URLs, goals, and pain points as a reply to this thread. Reviews will be posted on Tuesdays – weekly or bi-weekly depending on the number of people interested! :)

    THE RULES

As always, there are a few little rules to keep in mind…

    1. Do not submit blogs with adult or other nefarious content. They will be removed.

    2. Do not add review notes or suggestions to this thread – keep an eye out for threads about each individual blog and add your suggestions there.

    3. Do not start new threads asking to review your blogs. Requests must be made in this thread only.

    4. When threads are posted about individual blogs, please add constructive feedback and suggestions. This series is to help people improve their blogs, not to have their blogs roasted Comedy Central style.

    5. Please be patient – if the list gets long, you might have a little wait time before your review is posted.

  • Generous offer Christie – my blog is http://www.blog.creativebrew.com.au – I have not managed to grow the followers much at all. I averaged 3 posts a week for a long time – in the last few months I have slowed down as I’m changing the focus of my business towards strategic marketing and plan to reinvigorate the blog soon. Any comments would be appreciated.

  • Hi Kristi this is a great idea. Can I share this publicly?

  • Wonderful idea, Kristi! Mine is http://writerswin.com/blog/ and biggest pain point is coming up with something new and still topical to the literary community every other day :) But love spending the time on them… Goal is for the Where Writers Win name to be synonymous with emerging author success the way SME is synonymous with social media success!

  • @thedannorris Yes Dan! I’d love to get the word out about it. :)

  • Thank you! This is dope! Check me out on http://www.nyctalking.com

I’m just trying to increase traffic and interaction. I spend a good deal of time writing for the site, and it’s a bummer that I get very small amounts of traffic.

  • I would be happy that my blog is reviewed by you kristi.

    Here is my blog, ToStartBlogging.Com

My goals for this 2 months old blog, is to make 400$ monthly from this blog.

    Thanks again.

  • Oh how awesome! I have just launched my blog… great way to get some fresh eyes on something I have be staring at forever.

I am trying to educate and excite people about my products. I can not sell through my site due to p&ps my corporation has in place so its really just a gateway to my corporate site where they can make purchases.

My heart is to do a few posts a week and highlight either fashion trends using my products, or to highlight certain looks.

The goal is to do these posts and for them to fo to my fb page, twitter and other outlets of sm marketing. I am someone limited because of the corp p&p but I am so open to suggestions!!!

    http://jennileeg.com/

    Thank you!

  • Hi

    My blog is http://www.musketswordpaint.com

I’m hoping to build a larger readership and improve my profile as a writer. Recently I’ve not been posting as often as I’d like due to work commitments. I try to make most of the post original content written by me. My next step is to build a more professioal look to the site.

Any comments would be gratefully recieved.

    Cheers Jason

  • Fantastic idea my blog is The Real Supermum Blog which may be a little unusual for you but would appreciate a review .

  • Kristi,

Thank you so much for doing this!
    My Blog is BenjaminBeck.com
    My Goals

    • Increase traffic and my personal brand recognition
    • Increase comments and reader engagement
    • Connect and help other passionate marketers

    • I also am wanting to increase traffic & build my brand

    Thanks again!

  • Hello Kristi,

Excellent idea – I would be delighted to receive feedback on our blog zapplab.net

The blog is very new – it is only up and running now for a month or two – and we are working on quality content more and more – as a start up we are almost off the ground but not quite so our goal is to get the word out there, establish our brand and communicate and engage with our users – we have very little traffic (if any) so tips on the beginning stages of a blog would be great!

I see our blog as central to our sm marketing strategy – as it will feed twitter and facebook with main posts.

    Thanks a million!!

  • Hi Kristi

I’d love you to have at Quirky Travel

    Many thanks!

  • Hi kristi, My blog http://www.imagesense.com.au/index.php/blog has only been going since May/June. It is all about showing ladies how they can dress successfully in today’s fashion no matter what their body shape, personality style or profession is.My blog was started to primarily gain traffic to my website, & build a presence of being an expert in my field and therefore to generate appointments.

    thanks Joanne

  • Hi! My blog is  http://destrydarrdesigns.tumblr.com/. I post new blogs anywhere between once a week to once a month and send them out via MailChimp newsletter then post to ping-o-matic and all my social media. Four out of our five followers are from our office and I cannot find the blog on any search engine. I get positive feedback from the people I send the posts to but am not getting any followers. I don’t know if it is Tumblr, that people don’t like the content, aren’t finding the blog, or something else…Thank you for the help. Destry

  • I ghostwrite a blog for a realtor at http://www.lovelakeoswego.com. The goal is to show him as an expert on Lake Oswego where he specializes in home sales and to draw in folks who are (a) looking to learn more about Lake Oswego and (b) community members who may be in the market for a home later. Daily views have increased from 10 to an average of at least 50 in just a year with the highest being 714 on July 4th–when lots was going on in town. Subscribers however have been holding at about 50. And not much engagement–He has had two sales this year, however, involving clients who read the blog and felt that helped seal the deal for using him as their Realtor. Interested in your feedback.

  • Thanks for the great offer.  My blog is origunorig.blogspot.com

I started the blog a year ago, as a personal challenge to learn more about social media and measurement.  Not especially extroverted, I knew this business of attracting followers would be a difficult one.  Still, I have learned quite a bit in the time I’ve been around.

But I would like to crack this nut  Guest blogging and thoughtful commenting don’t seem to be as effective a strategy as it sounded.  It could be my introverted nature.  It could also be my content and writing style that’s killing it.  Either way, I’d like to convert more visitors to followers and elicit more comments from my readership.

Thanks for any feedback you can offer!

  • HI @kristi-hines,

    Thanks for this generous offer.

    I recently launched a new site : http://www.trafficsalad.com/

It’s about SEO, traffic generation and site conversion with case studies.

Thanks Kristi for any feedback that you can provide. This will really help a lot of people improve their blogs.

    More power!

  • Good Day

Thank you very much for the opportunity. I started a Medical Tourism blog on Wordpress a few months ago. About a month and a half ago I revamped the blog and upgraded it to a Medical Tourism and Travel Guide including medical, travel and health.

    http://www.medtiblog.org/

    Thank you very much.

  • Kristi – thanks so much for this offer. I would like to be added to the ‘queue’. My blog site is http://TQLTotalQualityLife.com. I am somewhat new to blogging, and I hope to build a blog business that focuses on promoting products to help my readers improve their life! For example, I am building – and very close to launching – a course to help people better understand where they spend their time, with the hopes of helping participants become more aware of where they might be ‘wasting’ time. All moving towards the bigger goal of helping them achieve something they want to do but don’t believe they have the time for!

    Thanks again for the eyes!

    Lisa

  • Kristi,
Your are a God-send.  I’m trying to market my increase traffic to my websites to help in the marketing of my products.  Any critique and feedback are really welcome.  I can’t even keep up with all the reading.

  • Hi Kristi,I am building up my blog as a marketing tool to brand myself and my ability. I am currently working on the design as well as the content. I would appreciate as much help and pointers as I can get. http://gdesigns.co.za/Thanks in advance

  • Hi Kristi, thanks in advance for doing this! I am interested in the reviews.

I am a chiropractic student and my purpose of this blog is to educate readers about chiropractic, nutritions, wellness and natural health in general. It also serves a platform for my blogging.

I plan to make it into my own brand name and to increase traffic. I also plan to make money off my site from ads and sponsors (not sure of the amount per month) someday.

I normally share my blog content on facebook page and on twitter to direct readers to my website blog.

I would love to increase readers, comments, and be engaged with discussion.

Since I will be a physician later in couple years, I would love to have a presence on internet and to my readers and my brand to gain a trusted reputation in this chiropractic field. I hope this initial step will allow me to gain momentum in that direction.

I do not have a team so I am the only person managing the website. I am currently in talk to try and change the entire design of the website to make it look sleek and professional soon.

    Thank you so much! :)

  • Wow! A great response to a great offer. I’m hoping that by the time you reach me on the list I will have improved at least a little bit with practice :)

    My blog is http://www.ashevillevas.com/soloprenews

It is a small business blog geared towards the solopreneur. My goal is provide valuable how-tos and tips to build a trusting audience and ultimately drive traffic to my site. Right now I offer virtual assistant services, but I would like to evolve into more consulting or teaching/coaching possibly. My niche right now is dealing with fellow solopreneurs, but wonder if I shouldn’t narrow my niche even more. Anyway, you said a blog review not business review so I’ll just end by saying “Thank You!”

  • Hi Kristi,

I’m new to the forum and this site, but the SME podcast drew me here like a moth to flame! I would love to have your thoughts on my site AWOPRadio.com

I have been doing the show for just over a year and have decided to take the month of October off to think about where I want to go with the show and develop some new projects I have been thinking about, but didn’t have time for. I would love to get your thoughts on the site and think about implementing any suggestions you may have during the downtime.
    Thanks so much.

I’m new to SME, but I’m looking forward to improving my social medial and bloggin abilities. I’ve been blogging for a year now.  I’m looking to gain more followers and expand my reach.  I try to blog about 3 times a week, I would like to blog more frequently, but my work schedule does not allow it right now.  My blog is for fun and entertainment, for me as well as my reader, but I hope to learn how to monetize it.  Thanks for your advice.  Kansas Poker Wife

  • Thanks a lot Kristi. Constructive criticism never hurts anyone… they’re always welcomed on my work. My blog http://www.onlinepr101.blogspost.com focuses on the latest in marketing strategies for getting businesses ahead. My main audience are fellow marketers, but entrepreneurs are also encouraged to read and take something from them. It not coming off as nicely as it should be though. I’ve paused on heavy submission and took some of the content down for upgrade. My intention is to provide upbeat, current, useful and encouraging content to readers but I may need some external guide on this. Some blogs are fairing way better than others and I suppose it’s a topical issue. But I’d so appreciate your input on this.

    Thanks again :)

  • Hi, my blog is http://vpeachdesignsphotographyandgraphics.blogspot.com/. I am looking to increase traffic and interaction

  • Hello Kristi.  Thank you for offering your valuable time and experience.  My web site is,http://bxboy52.wordpress.com/.  I enjoy sharing my work experience to help other warehouse and manufacturing managers.  I’d like to increase my readership.Look forward to the feedback.

  • I am planning to redesign both of my blogs in December, so a blog review would give me some good feedback on what things need improving.

Just Chick Flicks: http://justchickflicks.com/ This blog is currently on Thesis, but I want to change to Genesis, with a more magazine feel . I like the look of Fast Company’s blog.

Clarabela Media: http://clarabelamedia.com/This is the website for my freelance writing business, so it is the most important. I will also change this site to Genesis. I am considering the Cre8tive child theme, but need to figure out my content strategy.

  •  Hi Kristi, That would be so great. As with the others I am a new blogger too.  I do know I have lots to learn. My content is slow due to trying to do most of the things I write about.  I am not a writer but, I find I do like to write, and the blog is a complete turn on for me. I am trying to brand myself all over the net. I find that I don’t spend as much time sending information to it.I work a 9 to 5, I have events I go to  also to brand self and get leads for my network- marketing company and all the other place I put content in to grow my brand. I am also read  the book below to help my self improve. The book.. The Meatier Marketing copy by Marcia Yudkin. I try to keep my words simple due to some of my readers. Which are new people who want to start working online and be self employed. It is to help others but it is a journal  of my doing as well. My blog is http://converscity.wordpress.com  it is a free Wordpress but I would like to turn it into a money maker, and or a membership site or a portal to an newsletter. I don’t know which would be best so I am testing and exploring each option. I can’t take anything personal I know I need much work with most things on the blog. and finally yes I know my post are to long. as with this post. Sorry. Smile

  • My blog is at http://networkingninjas.net  This is a fairly new site for me, so any suggestions at all would be appreciated.

  • I would be most pleased if you would check out my blog. It is on http://www.route66pulsetv.com

    Your feed back is appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Oh yes, please!! I started to blog with the aim of gaining traffic to my network marketing sites and converting the traffic to sales. But most importantly, I need to express myself and develop to be a writer. I would very much appreciate your review and feedback. My blog site is: http://www.lizoblogs.com
    Once again, thanks.

  • My blog is http://blog.centuryproductsllc.com/. It’s a company blog for a cleaning/janitorial supplies distributor. The goal of the blog is to offer cleaning tips and advice. My company’s main customer is the restaurant industry, but I try to make the blog posts relevant to families and other businesses. Obviously not every post can fit into all categories. I blog 4-5 days a week and also try to tie in with the season or relevant industry news.

  • http://planetzuda.com/news is my companies blog. I would like more people to tweet about it, like it, basically be involved so I know I have an audience. I have tried using marketing tips by kiss metrics, which have helped slightly. I also recently joined Triberr and am more involved on LinkedIn Groups.

  • What a kind and generous offer! My bog is http://livingwellcoach.wordpress.com/
My pain point is reach. My goal is to help people interested in improving their health and wellness while building my Health Coaching business. I limit to a weekly blog with short Facebook bits in between. I have no loss for topics, but I feel that I’m not hitting the mark.

  • Thank You Kristi!

I would like to submit my blog for review.:

    http://PeterTrapasso.com

We are coming up on our 1 year anniversary and would love to be reviewed!

My goals are using the blog as a platform to share my writing skills for hire and to generate leads too.  I also need to increase traffic to the blog asap.

The topics are generally related to social media.

    cheers,

  • Hi – if this is still going I would appreciate a review of my blog Blog.moretas4less.com.au Very new to the blogging scene and wish to use our blog as a way to promote the Tasmanian Owned and Operated businesses we promote via moretas4less.com.au Ideally we want to promote “all things good about Tasmania” in the hope we can persuade more tourists to the state AND when they visit they support Tasmanian owned and operated businesses rather than the offshore multinational ones.

  • Hello, I am wondering if I can still get on the blog review offer. I posted that I would like a review last week. How does one get to know if the review has been done or the outcome of the review? Where to check the result and advice? I am on Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter. Best regards.

  • Hello,

I just started my blog http://carissacoles.com/ I am struggling to market this blog. Do you think I should mind to write many articles before doing any marketing?

    Need your inputs.

    Thanks.

  • Greetings,

Please review and share your thoughts.

  • I would love a review of my blog http://www.greentreeandassociates.com/blog-0/, I find that they blogs are not performing well.  My objective is to generate potential customers to my website.
    Thanks!

  • Kristi,

I was pleased to see where you are offering to review blogs for constructive criticism. I have not had any feed back to my blog. Of course you have to have readers for that! Everything I do to promote my site is a new venture for me. I have no experience with blogs or anything else I do to promote my site. I welcome all criticism good or bad. Since the purpose of my website is selling products I do not want to make my blog all about self-promotion. I try to mix in different subjects and hopefully helpful subjects and I would like to promote positive communication between readers and myself. This may not be the correct approach. Looking forward to an evaluation!

  • My blog:  www.forwardrecovery.blogspot.com

My goals are to increase audience size and hopefully direct traffic to my website which will hopefully lead to new clients for my business.  However, I am happy to just have an increase in readers, as I think educating the public on mental health and addictions is important – plus I enjoy writing.:)  Thanks!
