Video Scribe: Cool Video ”Drawing in Real Time” Tool (5 posts)

  • A while back, a few of on here were hunting down a tool we could use to make those cool videos where a hand writes and draws all the way through the vid.

Can’t find the old thread to update it (as we never found one), so I thought I’d share this here. It’s called VideoScribe. It has a free 7-day trial (and no, I’m not an affiliate… not yet, at least). It’s easy, peasy. Without reading directions, here’s what I did with it…

  • @atlantarobin Will check it out. Thanks Robin! :)

  • I like that! How long did it take you to build the one you did?

Shari, I had never seen it before and just wanted to jump in and flail around a bit with no plan, so I literally just started typing, pulling in a graphic here and there, kind of discovered my topic WHILE writing, and just followed my train of thought at the time, lol. I guess it took me about 30 minutes of thinking, writing, and automatic drawing time to do the one I showed here.

Later, I decided to storyboard short ones from 30 seconds to one minute long. If you write it out on paper or an index card, you can tell your story faster and grab a graphic to go with your words a lot easier.

There’s another site they recommend you use (maybe Inkspot or something like that?) where you can take ANY graphic, trace it in outline form, pull it into VideoScribe, and use your own graphics instead of having to rely on VideoScribe’s graphics library. I must say, however, that VideoScribes library is very good and full of useful graphics, limited as it is.

  • Excellent! I think I saw that you can even import Powerpoint slides into this – could be a cool option to liven up/link a presentation outside the usual…
