Video files in WP blog do not show in Feedburner email (4 posts)

    I generally use youtube videos.I have tried using just the URL or using the embed code in HTML and no matter what the videos do not appear in my Feedburner email. It is either a black box or nothing. The videos do appear in the raw feedburner feed.I tried Smart Youtube which claimed to fix this but it was incompatible with my Woothemes Canvas theme. Any ideas?

    Hi Bob,

    You might have done all of these things but this what I would do:

    Check out the FAQ’s on the plugin page: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/smart-youtube/faq/ - gives you some tips on how to use the plugin.
    Second thing I would do is go to the plugin developer and ask if there is a work around for the Woothemes Canvas.
    Lastly, I would go to Woothemes and see if there is a work around for the Smart YouTube plugin issue for the Canvas theme.

    Generally speaking I have had better luck with speaking with the developers of plugins for resolving issues than theme developers.

    @hometechmtl The only email that gets YouTube videos is Gmail since they are both Google related.  I always include a link directly to the video underneath it in the post so email readers can go see the video since I switch between YouTube and Vimeo embeds.

    Thank you for the replies.Lawrence: That looks like the long term solution and I will start working on it. In the meantime however, Kristi’s suggestion seems to be the way to go. I have started adding links under the videos and will continue to do so until I can resolve the bigger problem.
