    Please point me in the right direction if this has been discussed/answered before, but I haven’t found it.

    Are there any good online, free or low cost resources that explain how and why to use Tumblr in detail? 

    Obviously, I have not yet done so, but want to learn to judge if it fits me or my clients.

    I believe I need both specific how tos, tips, and ways to explain conceptually, especially if I am going to delegate or teach a client

    I have my own website and I think it would be beating a dead horse if I was to maintain two blogs. You can by your own domain name for a few bucks and then you can have it forever.

    I would get your own domain name instead of being stuck in the Tumblr pool, if that makes any sense?
