Triberr & Your Views (13 posts)

  • I came across Triberr a number of months ago and I always like to test new systems personally – so off I went and made a small tribe. The results were great and the members of my tribe were equally happy to be receiving a rise in traffic – BUT the other mummy bloggers slated me for using it – called it a cheap and unprofessional way to offer others links.
I no longer use it as I am a little frightened to even mention it again on Twitter.
What are your views on Triberr? Do you use it?  Do you dislike it?

  • @therealsupermum Hi Emma. There’s a thread on Triberr over at http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/blogging/forum/topic/triberr/.  I have information form a good source (the founder @dino-dogan) that they have a lot of good things in the works that are definitely not cheap or unprofessional though!

  • I think in order to branch out I need to take a step back from being just “A mummy blogger” :( and do what works for me thanks Kristi will take a look as I only have positive things to say against Triberr.

  • OMG I am so sorry this happened. Triberr has been recommended to me by many in my own circles, including work at home moms and homeschooling moms. I have learned over the past couple years that there are many out there that when they don’t understand something, they find negative ways to steer clear and try to influence others to do the same. I am glad you are sticking to your guns and using what works! I love Tribes — need to go set up an account at Triberr still, but Tribes work – whether they are friends and family or organized groups or websites! :) I say BRAVO to you Emma ~ @therealsupermum

  • I haven’t heard of Triberr yet, but would like to give it a trial run possibly.
Being a homeschooling grammy LOL I don’t fit in possibly with those a bit younger but seem to make due.
I am trying to stay aware of places to connect more and not be on overload either.

  • It’s worked ok for me so far.  Not sure how it can be regarded as spammy, especially as any tweets have to be manually approved.  I wouldn’t worry too much about what other people say.  If you’ve found something that works, stick with it.

  • I have been slated publicly only this evening as I mentioned I had a few spaces left in my tribe :( Feeling quite deflated at the moment with blogging. Seems like because I am relatively new and are popular the top mummy bloggers dislike me – maybe time I stepped away from mummy blogging altogether and found a new circle of friends. :( I think a night off Twitter is needed.
A few say they unfollow those who use itThat it spams up their time lineThat they filter anything out from that word  starting with T & ending in R
    :(

  • @therealsupermum Say what you think you need to say, the rest will sort it out for themselves. Blogging helps you find your voice, don’t let others tell you where you can go with your voice. They don’t like it, tough.

That being said, I definitely get taking a night off now and then, one’s sanity is precious and precarious (I use Coffee to bolster mine own sanity!)

  • Hi Emma, do hope your feeling a bit lifted and encouraged. Agree you need to stand your ground and do go forward!

  • @therealsupermum Cheer up Emma! It’s blogging we’re talking about here, not saving lives… ;-)

Having said that, blogging and social media in general are not a sprint, more like a marathon. Better to ruffle some feathers in the beginning, find your niche, build an audience and move on. Don’t lose sweat over nay-sayers, and focus on the positive: your content, your motivation and your drive to succeed.

Enjoy Valentine’s Day with your loved ones, have plenty of chocolate and I hope you will continue pursuing your dream… :-)

  • @fredericgonzalo I never had bloggers in the parenting niche down as so competitive. Back on full form today so I am going to write a post on Triberr see if I can find some new tribe friends.

  • @therealsupermum I agree with Fredric, have the best Valentine’s Day and smile, your on the right track and don’t stray!!

  • Thanks Rebecca its awful to feel an outsider in such a clique group of people x
