wordpress question – trackback spam (6 posts)

    Ok so I received email from my blog about getting some track backs, these emailss read almost like they are more spam but I cannot affect them. Are these actual track backs?

    @glengorham, have you linked to your own posts? If so you will get a trackback from that.

    Where are they tracking back from? If it’s your own site because you link internally then use the plugin ‘No Self Pings’ to stop this from happening. That’s if you use Wordpress btw.

    @glengorham There are some sites that use systems that spam through trackbacks or pingbacks. They do it in hopes that your blog is not moderated so they can get a link from your posts. Akismet catches some of them, but not all. Mine got so bad that I actually ended up disabling trackbacks/pingbacks altogether. :(

    yeah,sorry I have not repsonded until now. Time with the kiddo and all that. Ok, no its not one of my own articles I see those, I will follow up on the other links.
    @kristi-hinesit might be one of those sites, the website it listed was “My Website” and I don’t know anyone that uses that!
