I talked to my son in college for the first time in a few weeks. He said, “I was worried about you. I called a few times and got the answering machine.” 

I asked, “Why didn’t you leave a message?” 

He said, “I checked your blog and saw you were still writing.”

Funny.  I remember it was a big deal in my house when the kids finally “friended” me on Facebook.  I suspect it was only because they had moved on to other social sites and felt sorry for dear ol’ dad.
