In case you haven’t heard, tomorrow is the SOPA Blackout.  Sites like Reddit, Wikipedia, Mozilla, the Cheezburger Network, WordPress.org and Boing Boing will go dark to protest the SOPA / PIPA Internet censorship bills.  All above links will take you to more information, although some may not work tomorrow because of the blackout.

Anyone can participate – WordPress has various plugins (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/tags/sopa) that will set your website to a temporary 503 redirect (which shouldn’t hurt your site in search engines).  WebProNews recommends this plugin.  I like the administration options on this one.

So my question is – are you participating?  Why or why not?  

There are no right or wrong answer.  This post is more to let everyone know why they might come across some dark sites tomorrow and open it up for discussion.

I even commented on some peeps’ “how can I make a difference?” …. or … what if people need my site? I can’t have it down for a day.” How about having it down forever????

I was planning to participate, but to be honest I changed my mind for a simple reason, I run paid advertisements on the blog so I realized it’s not my right to black it out!
