Seeking Placement Firms for Ghost Bloggers/Social Media Writers (6 posts)

  • Does anyone have a beat on job placement / temp-to-perm placement firms in the Chicagoland area (or elsewhere) for people like me who do blogging, Tweeting, digital content curation for Facebook, Facebook customer engagement, etc. on behalf of clients? I am a published author and journalist with a journalism degree and I am hopeful that this might give me a competitive advantage out there.

Thanks in advance for any leads.

  • @denisedorman You might want to try some of the sites listed here.

Also, try the Mashable Jobs board (http://jobs.mashable.com/a/all-jobs/list) and LinkedIn Jobs search (http://www.linkedin.com/jobs?displayHome=&trk=hb_tab_jobs_top).  Those should have something for you!

  • Any special areas you like to write in? I do run into folks who need guest bloggers… (might need a few myself soon as I get new site launch done next month!) So many challenges, so little time… :) (PS – Where are you at in Chitown – my old stomping grounds – was up there 2 weeks ago speaking at Pen to Digital Press conference in the loop… Happy to hook you up with those good folks, too)

  • @kristi-hines – Thank you for the links! Kicking myself for not thinking of just looking on Mashable’s site!

@Sharijstauch – I live in the NW ‘burbs – Carpentersville – and also happy to meet up. I can write on any topic and am hired to do so for companies ranging from financial services to logistics to manufacturing, but my love is pop culture.

  • Try Lynn Hazan at lhazan.com. She does a lot of placement for creative types. Also try Artisan Talent at artisantalent.com.

There are a couple of other places here in Indianapolis, but they may want people on site. But they’re still worth trying just in case they would let someone work remotely. Slingshot SEO is one, and Raidious Communication is the other.

I occasionally hire freelance writers myself for my blogging agency. I do have a couple of projects coming up if you would like to talk further. You can email me at erik dot deckers at gmail dot com.

  • Thank you, @erikdeckers – I will be contacting you! These are wonderful leads.
