I have a News Category on my blog and my blog is attached to my website. If I see a story/incident in a trade magazine can I write a short (my version) post about it and report it in my blogs news section. Does the news belong to everyone and is this how national newspapers get there leads. I will not be copying the article just using it as research to write my own short version. The thing is I can’t be everywhere so need to get information from wherever I can. Just need to get ideas of what I can and cannot legally do. Thanks for any help.
