Most of themes has this as an option in the theme settings page! 

Also, some themes use its own custom code!

mmm.. what theme you are using? and what you mean by “they don’t work with HTML”?

if you do, that is just a more tag placed after whatever text and images you want to appear.

hmm,<code> <!–more–> </code>is the tag to do the separation
To customize the message, simply add a space after<code>  <!--more, and turn it into something like this…<!–more Add any text here –></code> and the text would appear as a hyperlink
