Must draw guest bloggers for client – it’s critical (4 posts)

  • A new large client – Their website is almost done with an internal WP blog inside it. They are used to being #1 on Google with their keywords but they were paying about $1000 a month for this service. Adwords were not part of that fee. They were part of an on-line directory which also provided the SEO service.

I have emphasized it is important to belong to all directories that their competitors are listed in starting with the free level and deciding which are important enough to take a paid level. These directories offer a lot of keyword rich content for the industry they are in which helps bring their site up, and, in doing so, all those links as well.

I need to find ways to draw bloggers to write for their blog.

Any advice on where to look for guest bloggers, how much would be an appropriate payment, and any other help would be much appreciated.

It is not a technical subject but more of a personal sensitive type subject.

  • @michellefontaine Bonjour Michelle,

You may want to check out this website: http://myblogguest.com/

Guest blogging is all this site is about. But do make sure to navigate its conditions to make sure this is what you are looking for with your client. I think there may be a nice fit.

    Cheers,

  • @michellefontaine Also look for niche bloggers. Especially ones that seem to have a clue and maybe not be so well known. If you give a chance to an aspiring blogger like that, it could have huge impact as it helps them out, helps you out, and they probably won’t expect a fee. As to the whole search bit, organic search always does better. Redo things to make that better and over time they will be rewarded.

  • @michellefontaine You shouldn’t need to pay guest bloggers – many will be happy to do it for a link back to their site.  Definitely try http://myblogguest.com/ like Frederic suggested.  Be sure to create a page on the client’s blog that says they are open to guest bloggers and post some criteria (post topics, length, etc.).

In addition, you could also try posting in forums where they discuss the same topics that you want the guest bloggers to write about.  Chances are there is a blogger in the forum that would like the added exposure.

If those don’t work, you could always turn to freelance writers or find company bloggers using the sites listed in this post - http://sproutsocial.com/insights/2011/12/hire-blogger/.
