Legal/Ethical Blogging (3 posts)

  • Is it tacky/illegal/unethical to take articles and other blogs and put their content in your blog even if you give them attribution? There are a lot of good news articles, blogs, and even booklets with great info and news that I would like to pass on to our customers but I just don’t think passing on the link alone will be very effective. Nor will it affect my website stats of course.

  • @jesse-hyde It’s not bad if you get permission from the author. You might want to put a disclaimer at the top like: This post by ___ was originally published on ___ (with a link) and is being reposted with permission.

  • A better approach might be to springboard another post—feature a quote with proper attribution and then write your own thoughts on the topic. It may not boost your stats as much, but should give you a leg up on becoming an infuencer on you own. This way there should be no ethical dilemmas.
