Not to be an internet party pooper, but over the last few days, I’ve seen a HUGE increase in the number of video bloggers DRIVING while taping video blogs… and waaaaaaaaaaay too focused on looking at the camera rather than their driving.

And it got me thinking about that horrendous texting-crash public service video they made of exactly what happens to people when they take their eyes off the rode for the ONE second they should have been paying attention.

Tragedy… for all.

I’m thinking that’s why so many jurisdictions in the USA have passed NO TEXTING laws, even NO CELL PHONE laws… Too many needless tragedies.

But this new auto-video-blogging… this new video-blogging-while-driving fad is… obviously dangerous… and starting to make me queasy… waiting to see who the first casualty will be… and if we’ll be watching the massacre play out forever on YouTube again and again…

I have not noticed this trend.

In general, I think it is far more social to disengage from all social media while traveling whether we are walking or driving. Try actually talking to the people around us.

Pedestrian accidents while talking on cell phones are statistically quite high. Videoing while driving sounds like accidents waiting to happen.
