Be sure to introduce yourself here! Let everyone know where you blog (links are welcome) and your blogging goals whether they are personal, professional, or business oriented.

I’ll start off to break the ice.

My name is Kristi Hines. I am a freelance writer, professional blogger, and social media enthusiast. I have a wide range of interests with blogs to match including the following.

    • Kikolani (http://kikolani.com/) which covers blog marketing.

    • Photostry (http://photostry.com/) which showcases my photography.

    • Kristi’s ME (http://kristis.me/) which is my personal blog.

Now it’s your turn to say hello to the community!

  • Thanks Kristi!

I started my first blog way back in 2006 called Writing White Papers.  That was what pretty much got me known in the world of writing and marketing.

But before that I had been involved with forums and even bulletin board systems dating back to the 1980s!  It’s pretty amazing the distance we’ve come since then.

This site is my baby (Social Media Examiner) and I am so excited to see where she goes!

  • Outstanding! Didn’t know all your personal interests, Kristi. I’m a former high school tennis player.

While I’ve been a writer for many years, I haven’t been blogging all that long. In fact, I wrote my first blog post for http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com about 8 months ago. I also started a blog for church musicians (http://www.calledtoworship.org) in July and just passed the 50 post mark. Woohoo!

I look forward to learning from this group about all aspects of blogging.

    Blog on!

  • Hi Kristi:

Nice to ‘see’ you again :) . I’ve been following your Kikolani blog for a couple of months and because of you, I learned of CommentLuv and installed it on my blog – so thank you.

My name is Patricia Redsicker – I’m a writer and content marketing practitioner. My blog http://wordviewediting.com/ talks about content marketing in general although next year (2012) will focus more on content analysis and content intelligence. I blog three times a week (on my blog) and believe that frequency and consistency is one of the main ingredients in a successful blog. I also use content curation (sparingly) as an important content development strategy.

Other than that I write book reviews for Social Media Examiner, and I blog for Content Marketing Institute as well. I’ve been writing for about two years – before that I worked in accounting/finance for over 15 years. I used to analyze numbers and I’m looking forward to analyzing words (content) in the next phase of my writing career.

Btw, I enjoy your blog very much Phil :)

  • I want to know everyone so I will introduce myself in all three clubs.

  • Hello All!

I’m a novice blogger.  I just started my first blog on Tumbler in November and it’s still finding it’s way to what it wants to be.  More importantly I’m working with a few brands to help them develop some blogging strategy that fits into the overlay of their 2012 plan and most of the time I’ll be asking for help and advice in that arena.  Glad to meet all of you and see your backgrounds, I look forward to more discussions soon!

  • Hi everyone!

I have been marketing for years, and always as an employee. I just (literally) went out on my own, to focus on content strategy and development, and integrating the content effectively with a social media strategy. My specialty is with small & mid-size B2B companies, and I have a lot of experience in technology and professional service, but am not limited to that.

Right now I am working on getting my blog and website together, as well as landing clients. We also recently located to Salt Lake City, to take advantage of the wonderful outdoor recreation here (ski season now :>)…)

Looking forward to learning and sharing. As a long-time marketer, I am always interested in seeing how things have evolved and which principles remain solid.

I’m excited about the new clubs, and my new life!

  • Greetings everyone – Jeff Korhan here.

My background ranges from a decade in corporate sales and marketing for a Fortune 50 enterprise, then 20 years operating a couple of local small businesses that I founded – a landscape design/build firm and a snow and ice management company, both of which I sold several years ago.

My focus now is helping mainstream (brick and mortar) small businesses with their social media and Internet marketing – primarily as a professional speaker to small business associations.

I’m especially interested in SEO and social search, QR codes and related technology, content marketing, and small business trends. You can find some of my articles on these topics here at Social Media Examiner.

Beyond that, I’m usually consistent at providing fresh content for small business types at my New Media and Small Business Marketing site.

Let me know how I can help you.

My strengths are real-world small business experience – and breaking down technology and complex business ideas to make them practical and useful.

More than anything, I’m interested in people more than technology – so, let’s connect!

Over the years, I started all types of blogs and various blog platforms.  Now, I’m blogging about education and productivity at http://StudentHacks.org and about Google Plus at http://circled.us.  I also used to run http://facebookfails.com (but it now redirects to my page http://facebook.com/epicfails) which I don’t really do much with anymore. I work in online marketing and excited to connect with other bloggers here.

  • Hi Everyone,

I’ve been blogging for just over a year.  My efforts have come a long way from writing content that just focused on what was trending on Google and blatant advertisements, to a more focused effort using Google correlate to have a better idea about what people are searching for.

I blog for my company which sells party supplies.

    Here is our blog:  http://www.thepartyfaq.com

    and our main website:  http://www.windycitynovelties.com

I’m very eager to hone my content marketing skills ever more.

  • Hello –

Other than my personal travel blog, I’m more of a blog administrator/trainer for our clients than a “blogger” as we have a team of professional writers at my company, but my goal is to pass along info to help them improve their writing based off best practices for reaching our audiences and to learn how to market our blog properties better.

My background is a combo of offline PR, freelance journalism and online SEO. I’m really looking forward to learning more about successful blogging! I’ve already learned a few GREAT tips, so thank you everyone for sharing your ideas.

  • Hello everyone!

I’m new to the entire business of on-line marketing of any kind, having spent most of my adult life either at sea and wandering the world, or working for government agencies that preferred me not to have a public profile. Right now, blogging, social media and SEO are alien concepts to me, which is partly why I wanted to join “the club” – to meet people, make new friends, learn, establish a fourth career, and create a successful business.

  • Hi,

    I’m Alan Stratton.

I’ve been consulting to business in cost management. This has required a lot of travel that is also expensive for clients. Recently, I’ve focused on adapting to internet delivery to reduce cost and reduce my travel.

I’m new to social media and feel that I have a lot to learn.

I have a blog at http://www.CostMatters.com I’ve made a video for most posts but haven’t had the time to develop other products. My facebook page for this site is http://www.Facebook.com/CostMattersCoach.

I also host a business Web TV program at http://www.PerformanceManagementEdge.com. The program features a group of boutique consultants offering tidbits on business performance management. It’s facebook page is here.

I’m looking forward to learning a lot here.

  • Hi everybody,

Looking forward to exchanging with you and developing my social media strategy. I write about art and interior design so I have 2 blogs.

My art blog talks about my personal experiences with art and encourages fellow artists. http://annadonahue.blogspot.com/

My interior design blog using Wordpress gives info for both designers and customers and I share everything I know about my experience as a professional designer. http://annadonahue.com/interior-design-blog/

  • I haven’t started blogging yet but I am very interested in learning more about it. I’m co-owner (with my mom) of Sara’s Hallmark in Cleveland, TN and we’re trying to appeal to new customers through social media.

  • One of my new sites is on camping/RVing and I would appreciate any help you can give regarding where to best find content to put on the blog.  It is still getting set up at: http://www.besttipsfornewrvowner.com

  • Greetings,

I have only been blogging for a month, and a half. I have gone through lows, and highs. I am lucky to have a ton of time to poor into Blogging at this point in my life.

My Blog is about learning through teaching computer skills through the promotion, of free and open-source software. I will have tons of tutorials. I have started with tips/tutorials using Linux to learn how to use free software to stay productive.

    Here is my Blog:

    http://open-source–construction.blogspot.com/

  • Greetings…

I have recently started a Blog about open-source software. My aims are to Learn through teaching. I hope to grow this community into a podcast(audio @ first then video), along with tons of video narrated Free and open-source software video tutorials.

Here is the direct link to my Blog:

    http://open-source–construction.blogspot.com/

I have been getting very minor success with traffic, so far. I am telling myself that I just need to just be a lot more patient than most people, because I am doing things the hard way because I don’t have a budget YET…

  • Hi everyone,
The Social Media Examiner clubs are such a great idea!  I am joining all three clubs, hence, repeating the same introduction.  My name is Sherry Nouraini, and  Founder and President of Captive Touch.  I am also Founder of Social Media Clinic.  Both of these services aim at educating small business owners in the fine art and science of effective social media marketing.  I was trained as a scientist and worked in the biotech industry for 5 years before I left the lab and reinvented myself as an entrepreneur.  I also teach biology part time at a community college.  In addition to educating small business owners about social media, I also offer my consulting services to biotechnology professionals and companies.  So looking forward to meeting great people here.

  • Steve Hoad here: Not too darn impressed with my efforts at blogging; seems I never have the time to do it right. Mostly, I use our blog to post the Emma’s Family Farm newsletter and really, I should be doing things in reverse just a bit more: blogging articles to include in our newsletter as teasers and links.

There seems to be so much happening in life that blogging just back burnered — not good,in fact, very poor. I joined this group to get a “push”.

I am also very interested in and invested in web accessibility. People with disabilities often have a difficult or impossible task navigating some types of web pages and social media platforms.  It is so much easier to build accessibility into a site at the beginning, that’s one reason why I’m so excited to be participating in this Beta.

I have a few sites, the oldest one is a Blogger site but the one most frequently read and used is for the Farm at http://emmas.

  • @kristi-hines Kristi – Sorry to be dense about this, but I’m on the blogging forum, read your introductory post and want to add one of my own. But I don’t see how to do that. Please advise. – Doug Bedell

  • @dougbeetle Do you mean an Introduce Yourself post here?  I saw that you posted one to your individual Activity status.  You can post that (with some links to your blog) here in this thread.  Enter the links as http://yourdomain.com/ so they will be active links!  :)

  • Sorry, Kristi, guess I am dense, but instructions on how to post to the blogging club sites appear to be a weakness of an otherwise marvelous site. I’m still stalled.

  • That should be singular, “… the blogging club site,” as well as the other two club sites. It simply isn’t clear how to post to them, at least not to me.

  • Hello! I am excited to be here! I am a PR and online marketing consultant – I have been consulting for 7 years and was in the corporate world prior to consulting. I have worked with a broad range of businesses, including high tech, entertainment, sports, nonprofits, services and healthcare. My passion is the sports/entertainment industry as I am an avid athlete and I love traveling when I have the opportunity (I grew up in Italy). I am looking forward to learning a lot more about blogging from this great group of people!

  • Hey everyone!

Jessie Springer here with Western Reserve PBS based in NE Ohio. I’ve been with the station for the past year and a half fresh out of the college scene. Loving my job and all of the learning that has continued since graduation! With the station, I’m a communications-catch-all. I handle anything from producing the live on-air pledging to proofreading to monitoring our SM.
We do very little with blogging at the moment. I would LOVE to increase our efforts in this area – it’s just difficult to do so with such a small staff and so little time. My goal is to pick up on content topic advice as well as help with time management…and more!

  • Greetings!

I’m not a professional blogger or writer so having the availability of resources like Social Media Examiner is invaluable to me.

I’m a co-owner of a sign company in Evansville, Indiana, Sign-A-Rama.  Our Signs of Business blog has been active since January, 2009.  My background is in graphic design so I look at sign making from a design and a communication view.

The main thing we want to do with corporate blogging is position ourselves as creative marketing professionals in our area.

In addition to our blog, Signs of Business, you can also find us on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

  • Hi everyone,

  • Hi everyone!

I am an Inbound Marketing Specialist at Alternative Office Assistance, my company and I am coming up on my 7th anniversary.  A big part of my Inbound Marketing services is Blog Marketing which I have found very effective for me and my clients.

In fact, I find blogging to be one of my favourite services as I contemplated being a writer or journalist as a career many years ago but got distracted in another direction.  In blogging, I now have an outlet to write!

I am very excited to join this group to learn, share and interact with many members!

  • Hi Everyone! My name is Don Purdum.

I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years and have fallen in love with helping people through practical “how to’s” on using websites, blogs, and social media.

In November 2011, I started The Internet Conference and I’m doing a lot of the blogging right now as we look for quality guest bloggers. The blog covers internet related issues for business, so that incorporates a lot of different things as you can imagine.

I look forward to getting to know everyone and I hope to learn a lot more from you than I can contribute!

  • Hello everyone, Hello all!

I am a education and consulting company in the fitness/sports performance industry.  Recently have gone back to owning my own company to continue to speak nationally and internationally at conference events, workshops, and private events for fitness and sports performance organizations.

I am new to blogging other than providing content to other industry bloggers through articles or video.

I will be developing a new website, blog and online product market for educating personal trainers, strength coaches, group exercise instructors and sports medicine professionals.  My specialty is building strong businesses through bridging the gap between science and good practical application through the most current methods and tools.

My goal is to reach 1 million people by teaching coaches and trainers who each reach multiple clients and athletes worldwide.

  • Hi, I’m Patricia Troyer, writer, publisher, dreamer, and compartively new at internet everything. Also a partner in Stone People Publishing, a small independent press, which has managed to survive since the mid-90′s. So one of the things we should be able to provide is how the publishing world works — outside the net. Yes, I know, that’s tantamount to sacrilege, but contrary to popular opinion, dead tree books aren’t really dead and probably not going away anytime soon. Changing, yes — but still making noise.

Truly looking forward to this. Thanks for inviting us.

  • Hi, gang. Really glad to be here in such distinguished company — and ready to learn and help if I can. Currently have two weekly blogs, one about dreams and symbols – http://www.lettersfromhome.biz – and one on minerals – http://www.crystalpersonalities.com. Love doing both, and need to learn how to get serious about doing more than just giving out good, free information — something we’ll always do, but now we’re also moving into the e-book market cause somebody has to keep the DSL hooked up. Would probably be fun, if I knew what the heck I’m doing…talk at ya all later. Best, Patricia Troyer

  • Fore!
Mind if I play through? Hello all. My love of golf spawned a golf blog, then another and so on. Still kind of a hobby that I would like to monetize so that’s why I’m here. My biggest problem right now is finding the time to do all that.

Looking forward to participating. Could you hand me that 9 iron? Thanks.

  • Kristi – A little slow in responding, but really glad to be part of the Blogging Club. I’m lead blogger for Talent Zoo’s FlackMe.com, a PR blog, and do three other blogs, two for clients and my own, Beetles Beat, which is currently inactive and needs to be restarted. My background is in journalism and corporate public relations. I was the post-accident communication manager at the Three Mile Island Nuclear plant for 14 years through the restart of TMI-1 and a bit beyond. My PR/Communication practice in Central Pennsylvania is ResourceRelations.net.      It’s great to be part of this community of practitioners!

  • Kristi,

I started blogging in 2003 and have written over 2500 posts on the Duct Tape Marketing Blog – I’ve learned so much from the blog writing habit and it’s probably my number one business asset.

  • Hi Everyone,

By trade I am a professional photographer, but I am searching for a new or additional direction.  My heart is for two groups: locally owned businesses and veterans.  I’m working on a website that promotes locally owned businesses in my county and my goal is to build it up and then hire American Veterans to work with me.

My photography website is:  http://www.wyantphoto.comMy website that promotes local businesses is:  http://www.mygoto-hamiltoncountyIN.com

I have a couple different blogsFor high school seniors:  http://hsseniorportrait.comFor our portrait work:  http://indplsportrait.com/For our wedding work:  http://indplscreativewedding.com/

  • Hi Everyone! I have enjoyed writing most of my life but I just posted my first Blog post last month! My second post was published yesterday and it seems to to very helpful so far. I have a lot to learn and I have been collecting information about Blogging for several months because I knew I would start on some day.  I enjoyed writing the posts but have a lot to learn about promoting them. http://socialmediadepot.net

  • Hi there!

I’ve been an avid blogger since 2009.  Mostly I write about leadership and social media at Leading With Passion.  I also guest blog occasionally on topics related to employer branding and workforce trends.

I’m also rolling out a corporate blog in January.

I’m here to learn all I can.  Hopefully I’ll be able to help, too.

  • Hello everyone!

I am excited to join the Social Media Network and interact with other social media marketers.

I am an engineer by education but after my MBA, I have been converted to a technology marketer. My love for social media started as a student when Facebook had just launched. Now this has grown into a full time career for me. All that time on FB wasn’t a waste after all. :)

I write a personal blog. I shall soon start maintaining the blogs for my company so I want to learn anything and everything about blogging. That is why I became a part of this club.

    My twitter handle is @ManasiKakade
Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn.

I just started working for an international IT company in Boston, MA to get their Social Media Marketing up and running. Right now, we are not that active on the SMM scene.

If you are interested you can check out the geeky websites for the 2 of our brands which I will be working for: http://www.smartshiftgroup.com/

    http://www.cloudenable.com/

I have also just started a FB page for a professional club that I am a part of - Toastmasters of Manchester.

I look forward to exchange of the ideas in this club.

  • Hi Everyone,

I joined the other clubs in the forum, but I will introduce myself here as well.  I am a Virtual Assistant who helps people with social media management, website design, email marketing and other business support services.

I do have my own blog, however, I don’t post nearly as often as I should.  (So busy with the other parts of the business)  So if you can get me back on track, feel free to add suggestions! :)

Please connect with me outside of this network as well.  I look forward to getting to know you!

  • Greetings all,

I’m the Casino Manager at Grey Eagle Casino in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We are one of seven Casinos serving a population of just over 1 million people; needless to say the competition is intense. We have been participating in social Media for a short time and am hoping to learn from other members and their experience and certainly sharing our successes and not so successful undertakings in this area of Marketing.

I do not currently blog but have been considering starting a blog talking about Casinos and Gaming in Alberta from an operator’s perspective but aimed at the consumer. Please understand if some of my questions are very basic,

    Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Grey-Eagle-Casino/110562742314143

Thank you to the organisers for the opportunity and my fellow members for their willingness to collaborate and share information.

    Cheers

  • Hi Everyone,
First, let me say thank you to Michael Stelzner and his team at Social Media Examiner for all you do to support us with your Social Media Blog, Content, Summits and now these clubs!

My name is Blair Evan Ball, using my middle name so I’m not confused with my over the top adventurous son, but I’m pretty adventurous myself. I’m passionate about Social Media, coming from traditional marketing. I coach small business and nonprofits on using specific strategies in Social Media.
I’m also passionate about photography which compliments Social Media.

As my daddy taught me…the day you stop learning is the day you die. Look forward to a long life, and learning from the club.

Now the about me part… I’m an Economist. I’m not saying that to show off as my colleagues would, I say it just so that you are as surprised as I was when my CEO told me he had decided I would be the new Internet Manager (I was the Marketing Manager for the company at the time).

  • Hi everyone!I’m excited to be part of this wonderful community, to learn and share :D

I have a Master’s in Computer Information Systems and had been programming for many years from MS Access to VB to SQL/Oracle and Cold Fusion and ASP for the web.  I also enjoyed teaching / training instructor on MS Office and graphic programs like Photoshop and Illustrator.  Then I began my family, Michaela is 5, Luke is 2, and changed my focus to blogging and to help people learn “how to” do things on their blogs, to help design and setup their blogs as well. Blogs by Heather (www.BlogsByHeather.com) was formed.

I was then approached by Apress to write a book on Blogger, Beginning Google Blogger (Jul 2010) and then another one published this year (Apr 2011), Creative Blogging.  I really enjoy writing, so I hope to write another one in 2012.

If blogging, and raising my kids aren’t keeping me busy enough (LOL), I have 3 dogs, a bunch of parakeets, and a dear husband to put up with us all (LOL).  I also enjoy card making and stamping, and become a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in 2006 as a creative outlet and to have fun with friends and family while creating handmade projects (www.HandStampedByHeather.com).

So that’s me in a nutshell – Mother, Wife, Blogger, Papercrafter – who also loves the beach, and has a wonderful, supportive, loving family :D

  • @kristi-hines

    Thanks kristi for welcoming guys!

  • Hello fellow bloggers excited to be an early adopter here with you all.

I am the Chief Evangelist for Inman News which is the leading independent real estate news site on the web coming in around 1.5 million page views per month. I also helped recently launch InmanNext which is a useful, practical, how to based blog for real estate agents much in the vain of SME as opposed to Mashable etc…

“Almost” everything I am writing and doing there is getting 2,000 plus social shares and 100+ comments so it is a great little community. I also am a national speaker appearing in front of plus or minus 75,000 Realtors a year. in every major market. This year I logged 200,000 miles with Delta :)

Prior I started a blog called Tech Savvy Agent where I built a brand and Facebook Page from nothing to 20,000+ members in under 18 months. It was named the most innovative blog in our industry beating out large companies such as Coldwell Banker.

Enough about me here is my column if you are interested in checking it out!

  • HI all,

Excited to be here!  I’ve been writing online for years now.  But I’m down to mainly 2 areas now:

  • Hello All,

My name is Tim Huntley, and I am the former CEO of Ganymede Software (sold in 2000 to NetIQ).  Three years after selling the company, my wife and I had twin boys (woo hoo!)  - I wanted to stay close to home and be a big part of the kids lives, and to keep me busy, I ran a little micro farm on my land until this past year.

More recently, I have launched My Athletic Life, a website focusing on the needs of “dedicated athletes.”

And I am dipping my toe back into the tech startup world by acting as an advisor to Spring Metrics.

I look forward to interacting with you.

  • Hi all,

I’m Adi and I’m joining you all from London, England.  I love blogging and currently do it for a range of sites.  I have previously written a lot about management and leadership but my personal love is social media, and in particular social business.

I write for the likes of:

As my day job I work for the Process Excellence Network so am keen to hook up with anyone that blogs on management, lean, six sigma etc.

  • Hi everyone,

I’m excited to be part of SME’s blogging club. I’ve been writing posts for Social Media Examiner for over a year now.

The 26 Tips posts, A-Z guides to a variety of social media topics have been enormously fun and rewarding to write!  In case you haven’t noticed the online community at Social Media Examiner is really unique from other communities (which is why I love sharing posts here).

When I’m not writing for SME, my posts can be found on a variety of other sites (e.g. GigCoin, WebDesigner Depot, The Content Marketeer) including my own personal blog.

I also write personal essays and participate in a writer’s group where I love continuing to explore the craft of writing.

Look forward to meeting and connecting with members here!

  • Hi Everyone, I’m an applied biologist and science educator who is developing specialized websites related to health, environment, sustainable living, etc.
I’ve kind of resisted blogging. Not that I don’t see the value but its hard for me to stay interested when content development takes so much of my time.
I know I have to change this attitude so I joined this group figuring I’d learn how others overcame their resistance and developed widely read blogs.
