  • Hey, everyone.

I started blogging around 2001 and used the Greymatter script which taught me how to code in Perl. A few years later, I switched to the more robust and less buggy WordPress. After taking several years off from blogging, I returned in 2008 and started using Blogspot due to its direct pipeline into Google’s search engine. My current blog, Яeversed Engineered Designs, functions primarily as a showcase for my graphic art, though I plan on fleshing it out a bit more with some of my writing. For example, I’m working on an article entitled Graffiti Slipknotted Hanging Chads. I also want to work on increasing my blog’s readership.

In recent months, I’ve been considering adding a new WordPress blog to supplement my existing one in order to potentially increase my audience. I would appreciate feedback from the SME Community regarding this decision. Thank you.

  • @kristi-hines Hi! My name is Angela Romero. I’m a bilingual marketing professional who is passionate about social media, blogging, and advertising.  My passion for marketing is embodied by my academic achievements. Even though I learnt English only a few years ago, I have maintained a 3.97 GPA and will be graduating Magna Cum Laude. Also, I have been awarded a membership in Beta Gamma Sigma. Now, I’m in the process of finding a place in the advertising industry, where I can use my creative as well as my business skills to deliver value for a company.
Also,  I’m the writer at Madame Croquette. In Madame Croquette, I write about my hedonistic endeavors along with findings from my omnivorous curiosity, from epicurean meals made by yours truly, to clothes I wish I could afford, to my adventures around the world or with music, or just about everything I enjoy in life. I want to learn new strategies to increase the activity of my blog and finally monetize by blog!

Actually, the blog’s name was Bitch Slap and it still exists where I play the part of Noa.

  • Hi!

I’m Donna and I run a blog with my husband Dave. Previously I blogged about books and he blogged about films and music but recently we realised we’d have a stronger platform if we merged so we joined forces and set up Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dave (http://tweedling.com).  That’s kind of the ‘fun’ side of my blogging life.

However, I also run a Facebook group called the Indie Exchange, which has a tie in blog (http://theindieexchange.com) and that’s all about promoting independent authors and I’m also co-founder of the Book Bloggers’ Collaborative (http://bbcoll.com), which is a group of book bloggers working together to promote authors and one another.

My job is very much around author promotion and publicity and my ‘fun’ blog offers me a fun way of staying on top of happenings in the book industry, while the other blogs help me connect with authors and bloggers and be really involved in both the indie and book blogging communities.

I’m really excited to be here and to visit some of these amazing blogs you’ve all listed!

    ThanksDonna

  • Wow, no response from the lady that dresses up like an older version of herself and names herself the yawn inducing obvious to toddlers even = grandma called out by Noa Ashe!

Vicky lawrence was doing that act before you wuz even born.

I impersonated a black woman. Try that.

Oh, great. Now I scared grandma away.

  • Hello Everyone, Bob and Kimber here…
Bob and I believe life is a journey, you never know exactly where you will end up or how you will get there. As our 4 children were growing we were inspired to adopt, we have been blessed with a sibling set of 3 and a sibling set of 2 bringing our family to 9 children.  Our last 5 children are very high needs with mental, behavioral and physical challenges.  It became apparent that I would need to be a full time work from home mom with the flexibility to support our children’s needs.  Social Media and Marketing presented me with a huge learning curve so I continue to look to the people and groups like this for my ongoing education.
The wireless industry is used by millions of people and we wanted a small % of that market… why… because it is a renewable and necessary service… Lightyear Wireless is the only company that offered an average person like us the opportunity to start a business and receive our monthly wireless service for free.
Now as Vice Presidents with Lightyear Wireless, we have seen that people are beginning to see the power and importance of owning their own business.  We enjoy helping customers start and receive their service for free as well as assisting entrepreneurs’ in starting their own online wireless business with the residual income from the wireless bills.
Bob and I look forward to meeting you on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and all the other social sites…

  • My name is Teresa Lynn.  I have a blog called Finding Centre: My journey of Healing and Forgiveness after Surviving Childhood Sexual Abuse  http://teresalynn.ca

My blog is meant to bring awareness around the topic of childhood sexual abuse and how surviving it can still leave you a loving, positive person.

I am a married mom to two boys that I home school. My family is very busy in sports, travel, photography and doing many things outdoors, including mountain climbing.  We spend a lot of time instilling the value of charity and good works into our children.  We find that staying involved with those we love and making the effort for friends and family is always worth it.

Through social media I hope to engage with people that appreciate connecting to real relationships not just opportunities.  I look forward to seeing many of you on places like this forum website.

  • Hi everyone!

My name is Mackenzie and I just started in the advertising business as a marketing assistant at a television advertising business.

I’ve (somewhat) taken over the blog for the company I work for (http://creativebubetube.com/why-choose-us/blog/ ) although it’s not going anywhere fast because I have conflicting opinions about how to blog for a business. Some people say it should be educational (and a sales tool) and some people say it’s all about being social.

My personal blog is (http://ninetyninepages.wordpress.com/) a book review blog, that I’m experimenting with right now, so it’s not always updated…yes I realize that’s a huge no no with blogs.

Look forward to talking to everyone!

  • I am a retired dentist who has identified that personal tooth care aids and advice is far from adequate to prevent tooth decay and have developed the SupertoothNDK.org proposed evidence based oral health project to help NDK (end decay) which even after fluoridation is our most common disease that affects 11 million Australians each year.  I think the way forward is to organise a review of oral heath promotion to involve all stakeholders involving the Oral Health CRC and including the community, DHS, Dentists, confection manufacturers and others who may develop a better products like chewable toothpaste and toothbrushes based on findings that indicate the need to reduce acid demineralisation and increase saliva and fluoride remineralisation and perhaps including Recaldent if possible Over 80% of cavities (90% in children) occur deep inside pits and fissures on chewing surfaces where brushing cannot clean while saliva and fluoride have no access to neutralise acid and remineralise tooth like on easy to reach surfaces. Sealants placed over chewing surfaces block food access and halt the caries process. I have been able to demonstrate that chewing the first bite of any meal or snack has been shown to fill deep inside pits and fissures on occlusal surfaces, even into fine hair like projections as seen in the photo and temporarily block further food access. Chewing carbohydrate free food before carbohydrate rich snacks like sugar confection can block further food access and reduce demineralisation. Chewing fibre like celery for 2 minutes after meals and snacks, particularly after sugar confection, forces saliva into trapped food to dilute carbohydrate, neutralise acid and remineralise tooth. Chewing sugar free gum for 20 minutes helps also but gum doesn’t absorb and expel saliva. However gum can be modified to force saliva deep inside pits and fissures and afford better access for dental agents like Recaldent and prevent the gum sticking everywhere as it does now. Flossing or removing food between teeth after eating improves saliva access to neutralise acid and aid remineralisation. Also improving Fluoride toothpaste access when brushing. It is easy to force fissure sealants inside pits and fissures as seen in the photo where the tooth was dissolved in acid. In the same way fluoride toothpaste is easy to force inside pits and fissures under chewing pressure before brushing to block food access, remineralise tooth and increase resistance to acid. A review of oral health promotion is urgently needed to bring all technologies together and improve personal tooth care advice that is evidence based to NDK even in undeveloped countries and improve current advice to avoid sweets between meals in to floss more and help remineralisation. Please Register on http://www.supertoothndk.org

  • Hey I’m Ashley and I started blogging because I liked the Internet, I wanted to use it as a means of being able to work from home. It took me several months to figure out the basics of monetizing my blog and I was quite excited.

I write about working from home and personal development. I still have quite a bit to learn about the industry and gaining more viewers who are consistent in checking out my work but I believe it will come with time.

For now I am writing at my main blog which is http://www.ashleyuporter.com and I also contribute to ezinearticles and empower network as well.

I am looking forward to learning more from the club members here!

    Take care,
    Ashley

  • Hello Media Socialites, Or is that Media Socialists? :o )My name is Stafford “Doc” Williamson.  I have written a column on American Chronicle for 6 or 7 years, although that has fallen into a neglected status lately since I started blogging (I wanted to have the “status” of an online columnist because I had been one before, but finally realized with the emergence of HuffPost and other powerhouse online publications where all the writers were “bloggers” that the “stigma” of being a mere blogger had more or less gone away.)  So now I have a whole syndicate of blogs and although I have less accurate statistics than under American Chronicle’s syndicate of 22 publications, I still believe that thousands of people each month read something from my thousands of articles, columns and blogs online. With “thousands” of visitors you might think I’m a bigtime hit, but I am not.  I want to “change the world” and I am doing that in my “real” job developing new technologies for biofuels and other forms of alternative energy (green energy).  I have come to believe some of the serious concerns about climate change, including rising sea levels that threaten low lying communities all over the world, and that regardless of what is causing climate changes we need to be doing something to prepare for it, and if possible prevent it.  But the side effect of my efforts is really what I consider the most important part, which is that by empowering people everywhere to create their own GREEN ENERGY locally, that it will bring a rapid decline (and hopefully an END) to extreme poverty, especially in African nations and other neglected “3rd world” areas of underdeveloped societies.I sure would appreciate any help you might be able to offer, and I will give as freely as I can of my help and advice to anyone and everyone.Hope to see you travelling some of the same “roads” here as I do.  And best of luck with all your worthwhile pursuits.LoveStafford “Doc” Williamsonhttp://www.youtube.com/user/daochienergy/videos http://lifestyle.psyrk.us

  • Hi everyone! As part of my “Communications & Social Media Coordinator” job at a small healthcare technology firm, I’ll soon be launching a blog. I created and managed reader-submitted blogs for my previous employer (http://blogs.record-eagle.com), but business and B2B blogging is a different animal. I’m looking forward to learning all I can from everyone here!

  • Hi All,
I am new here, and wanted to say “Hi”.
Here is a little about me:I had my first website almost 20ty years ago now. I have been blogging since it was, well not called blogging and I had to write my own software to do it. Way back in the day E & N sites (that is what evolved into blogs — and meant Everything and Nothing) where the rage and unique. I have used Nuke, Post Nuke, Wordpress and Drupal. I had a blog (that predated Facebook) that had about 5,000,000 uniques a month. After a 6 year run I retried that web property in 2008 as the Facebook revolution started to really take off and I saw my value proposition fading (FAST!). I currently am responsible for Web Infrastructure for the government owned TV station in Toronto (http://tvo,org, http://tvokids.com, http://ilc.org and http://homeworkhelp.ilc.org ).
Since 2008 I have really done nothing but piddle on the sidelines of Social Media, but now plan to dive back in. I am going to spend the summer building my Social Media plan around 2-3 concepts I am working on, and re-enter the world of business owner ship (at least as side gig) in the fall. My lead concept is a massively multiuser game technologically, based on HTML5 and javascript with a node.js back end (same technology as farmville on FB).
All my current social media links are on my profile, please  to click and follow… especially my Facebook page, I am the only one that like it right now LOL … it would really help me out to get to 50 likes (or what ever the magical number is so I can customize the url) :

  • Wow… so many great people here!  I’m excited to get to know more about you.  I’m so glad to have a place to talk about blogging.  While I’ve been doing it for years, on and off, I am committed to creating an attractive blog about my passion, food. I am a RAW food enthusiast and ex-caterer.  I’ve got friends and family asking me to share my recipes, which I’m happy to do, but feel as though blogging might be the best way to share.
I have no idea how to monetize it. I have no idea how I can make money writing. I have no idea how to write a successful blog.  I just love food and am passionate about sharing what I know. That seems like a good first step!
I look forward to learning and sharing.

  • Hello fellow bloggers! My name is Mark Evans.
I have been following SME since shortly after launch.
I have a niche video blog that covers the sport of NASCAR auto racing. I host the “NASCAR Web Show” on my site: Degree31.com. After much gnashing of teeth and sleepless nights, the site launched on 4/15/12.
Degree 31 (named after the 31 degrees of banking on Daytona International Speedway) is a platform to tell the back-stories of NASCAR insiders and drivers to the 75 million fans that passionately follow our sport. What I do on the site is interview folks via Skype video to tell the special interest stories traditional media and bloggers overlook.
    Cheers!Mark

  • Hi Everyone,

I help small & medium sized businesses market online.  I started by building Wordpress websites but soon realized that they needed traffic to those websites, so started working with businesses on their social media as well.

I’m just starting a new blog http://www.Blog4Traffic.com and Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Blog4Traffic to help business owners get traffic to their sites by blogging effectively.  This is me putting into practice what I teach, so wish me luck! :)

I am truly looking forward to learning and sharing from everyone here.

  • Hello Everyone! After attending Social Media Summit earlier this year, I was so impressed and learned so much, I had to come back for more.

As a Christian freelance writer/speaker and health enthusiast, my goal is to establish an online presence and publish my first book in two years. Naturally, I had to register for this blogging course. As I learn to “brand” myself I discovered an unexpected blessing…online friends!

I write to women and address the challenges we face balancing work, family and finding personal fulfillment. My ezine and blog launched earlier this year, so I’m a newbie to the cyber world but enjoying the ride. I’m also excited to be part of this group! Marisa

I have two cards in my wallet: a Medicare card and a Lifetime Weight Watchers card. My new blog is a re-launch of my award winning photo opinion blog of wide ranging topics. My new blog is called, Waving or Drowning, and it is designed to showcase experts in the field of weight loss and weight management through interviews, reviews and discussions led by folks who know the territory, either through personal experience or professional focus. I’m sick to death of listening to myself on this topic but endlessly interested in what others have to say.  I’ll help translate their wisdom and humor into media that can help others who deal with this issue.

My brand new Facebook page for the Waving and Drowning blog is here and is need of a little like-love if you feel so inclined.

I’m the editor of the Cellarit Wine Blog. I regularly write about Australian and international wines. I’ve written about 187 posts to date, but still feel very much like a beginner. I’m getting a lot out of the Blogging Fundamental sessions to date.

  • Hi  Everyone!

I’ve been involved in healthcare financing for over 30 years. Recently I did some research for one of my older siblings on long term care and, as a result of this research, I wrote an eBook titled “How to pay for Long Term Care without going Broke”. I’v recently started a blog for 3 reasons: first, to get involved in the discussion about healthcare reform. Second, to promote my book. And third, to develop content for a book on healthcare reform. My blog – http://www.payforlongtermcare.com/blog – represents my opinions and observations on the US healthcare system.

  •

  • Hi, I am Mark Laurie, I am photographer that specializes in photographing women, creating experiences and images the empower and em-bold women. My company is Inner Spirit Photography. I also teach internationally and mentor  photographers/small biz owners.

I have been poking at blogging for several years now, with middling results. We are relaunching both the websites and blog in October with a less complicated sites. We are changing the focus from photography products to experience with the photography as the vehicle. We also plan on turning me into a bit of a celebrity. Which should be interesting.

The focus and the tone of the blog has always been the challenge, and I guess marketing the blog as well. I am looking forward to following Michael’s template and learning from this group to reach a stellar result.

  • Hi everyone, my name is Gabrielle Holmefjord, and I’m very happy to be here:)

In my previous life I worked as a nurse and a researcher, but now I’m in the process of establishing myself as a writer. Following the breakdown of my marriage in 1999, I went through a very deep and profound spiritual process that I’ve written about in my soon to be published book, A Return to My Soul. On the basis of my spiritual experience I’ve developed a life philosophy called Living Inside Out. My aim is to promote both my book and my philosophy.

I have a blog on which I’ve published some articles, but I haven’t been able to create a regular blogging routine because my focus has been on finishing my book. But this will change soon, and I look forward to developing blogging skills.

I also have a facebook page called Living Outside Out.

I would love you to join me:)
