• Genius! I like to be part of genius.

So from my little corner of beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah, I say hello everyone and thank you SME for starting these networking clubs.

By day I work the social media, compelling content through blogs, and SEO ropes for Reading Horizons. By night, I do much of the same for my own personal blog Girl Goes Boom – the adventures of a 50-something, divorced, and happily re-married Mormon mother and grandmother. Let me assure you there is never a dull moment.

Looking forward to the future of all things social media – with each of you, of course!

• Hi all.
I am definitely new to this site and still trying to work my way through the maze of socialmediaexaminer. I have a wide history in social services, and non-profits. I also have a successful history in technology development from a corporate business development perspective to actual system design. I am not a programmer. I was a founder of lifeasahuman.com, which is growing strong these days and has been a labour of love. I am working on another couple of web projects, one of which is launching soon in social media and the other a more niche brain sciences project.

• Hello Everyone,

It’s awesome to meet you all. My name is BK Walker. I’m a published author, blogger, and I guess I too could be considered a jack of all trades. I have many interests from Graphic Art Design to drawing, writing to reading, and just being a plain old Mom.

I run several book blogs and I’m the founder of the Virtual Book Tour Cafe’, a book publicity and marketing company. I am continually learning everyday, but just actually gave my full attention to my business when I got laid off back in August.

I love to learn about social media marketing and blog marketing, and am so ready to learn more ways to promote my blogs and business.

I’m looking forward to learning from you all and networking together.

I also created a networking event for Sports Bloggers in Boston called Boston Sports Blogapalooza. To say that I am a fan of social media and sports is a vast understatement. :)

I look forward to making some new connections!

• Stephen G. Barr (Steve) here and I publish over 35 blogs and have done so since about 2006 on multiple platforms with a preference for Google’s Blogger platform over Wordpress (I also own a Betamax). Writing original content on so many subjects would be impossible so I was an early adopter of creating submarket niche topic aggregate or curated content blogs back when it was confused with plagarisim and I’m sure I crossed the line once or twice out of ignorance. I just needed a lot of “real estate” to post all my affiliate marketing banners on and retire before 50. Well, I’m 53 and still at it so you know how well that plan went. I have since pretty much tossed the notion that I will get rich off affiliate marketing unless I become a self-proclaimed “Visionary” and hold seminars and give away my free eBook on one of those Infusionsoft red, black & white squeeze pages we all know and love (to hate). I still enjoy keeping so many blogs in continuous publication and some do very well as far as traffic, some not but as a frustrated web designer and graphic artist I need lots of blogs to tweak and play around with so they are fun for me. My day job is as a publisher, producer & talent manager in the adult entertainment industry which some people are jealous of and while it does have it’s perks the truth be known I look at logo & branding sites late at night not porn. (I’m kooky like dat yo!)

My part-time business is as a marketing and social media coach http://www.taigoodwin.com for authors and coaches. I also publish two blogs – one for employedpreneurs – LauchWhileWorking.com and another for careerist – CareerMakeoverCoach.com. My name is Heidi and I am the owner of

needless to say I am a busy lady. LOL
I am always open to learning more and want to network more with other bloggers and business owners. I live in Wyoming (US) and I don’t get a lot of opportunities to connect with other website owners and bloggers in real life simply. Social Media Examiner is great – love it, read it just about daily.

• Hi everybody!

• I’m from Norway, and have been active in social medias long before Facebook and Twitter. I have run my own business on the internet for the past 10-15 years. I own two netshops – with cloths and accessories, and Gadgets and gifts. Beside PC, I use my pad and phone to surf the net. Android is my favorite.
• I have been Networking for many years.
• I run a couple of blogs, but I mostly blog in norwegian.

You can find my social media profiles here: http://xeeme.com/steehans

• Morjens! This social media deep sea diver (also known as me) has been blogging many years now. Blogs have come and gone, and currently I’m involved mainly in our companys blog:
http://www.zento.fi/blog (in Finnish)

I may have gained a little bit of fame in Finnish food blogging scene between years 2008 and 2011, but I realized that food blogging didn’t give anything to me anymore.

I’m planning a new blog on my freetime, it is going to be all about engagement. I have this dream to write a book and it may or may not have everything to do with my upcoming blog.

Blogging is definitely my favorite tool, so I’m going to pick your brain shamelessly!

• Hello Everyone :)

My name is Lea. It’s awesome to be here and meet you all :)

I do a lot of blogging for clients (mostly Wordpress Hybrids opposed to Blogger and Typepad); I generate their content, social media and online marketing strategies as well. I have one Blogger of my own that I started in hopes that Google would update their platform once they launched Google + (sadly they have not) and I’ve enjoyed the challenge of generating traffic to that blog, but most of my personal blog are Wordpress because of their SEO and design capabilities. I joined this “club” to learn and share different blog design, blog marketing and community implementation techniques.
On a personal note, I am a shy mommy that obtained my degree in Information Technology and Business after being bit by the Internet bug 13 years ago. I have been consulting in this industry for 8 years, though learned how much I loved it 5 years earlier as an affiliate marketer during the launches of Paypal, xCom, Ebay, Commission Junction, MyPoints, etc.
I welcome your friendship, questions and suggestions.

• Hello fellow bloggers!

Excited to be part of this network! I have been blogging for about 5 years and always on the hunt for the latest tips and techniques to make the whole more efficient. I look forward to learning from all, sharing in the conversations and help to answer any questions I can.

Here’s my “About Me”:

I’m a classically-trained marketing professional, and my experience also includes more than ten years specifically in the online marketing arena and the last three years focused on social media.

I am the founder and a blogger of TheSucculentWife.com, and an avid lifestyle and trend-watcher which provides me with unique insights on developing trends and the inside-track with boomer women consumers and bloggers.

My latest venture is BOOMbox Network, an online network of baby boomer social influencers. Here, I combine my professional experience as a marketer and as a blogger/influencer. With an understanding of the requirements on BOTH sides, I create campaigns which provide value and performance. And lots of incidental and yummy insights!

Cheers!

• Hello there!

Guess I’m a little late to the Party but here I am !

I actually started Online Marketing over 10 years ago and quickly built a list of over 10,000 with a great business. I then went into a corporate career, left the Online Marketing behind because times were changing and I was still young..

Now some 10 years later, I’ve decided it’s time to re-establish myself Online. Not going to be easy but hopefully not to hard either!

I have restarted my own blog http://venturetothetop.com

Strange really, as I hit the Digg homepage a few times in 2010 (thousands of visitors a day) but then did next to nothing with it in 2011.

I write for some well known blogs including Entrepreneurs Journey so hope the wisdom of the crowd will help push me up the ladder of blogging success very quickly!

• Hello everyone. Great to be here.

Have had a web presence since the late 90s and started blogging as a pastor-missionary in bush Alaska, while ministering in our second village, a Yup’ik community called Scammon Bay, on the coast of the Bering Sea, 70 miles south of the Yukon River Delta. Blogging was a way to keep in touch with the lower 48 states.

Although I live in Alabama now, I still blog on a few sites using blogger and wordpress:

Justification by Grace

Christ and Him Crucified

Our Light Affliction

Vayahiy Press

I look forward to meeting you, networking, and learning from those more seasoned than I in the art of blog.

• Hi Kristi – really like your passion for social media and freelance writing, blogging expertise. I am interested in exactly the same topics as you so have just added you to my friends on Google+ and Facebook. I have a blog domain but need to work on this in more detail. For SEO & Ease of Usage & Security which blogging platform or Content Management System would you recommend? I have experimented with most of them, but keen to hear your thoughts. I think LightCMS offers fantastic value for web designers, small businesses and I have plenty more great ideas to share. For ease of use I use Posterous or WordPress but not done much with Blogger, TypePad, Tumblr – spoilt for choice but must stick to one and master that as that is my problem, not getting a student of everything but master of one.

• Happy Friday All!

I’m thrilled to be here and looking forward to contributing to the conversations.

My site can be found: http://www.ericrandolph.com

• Hello everyone… and to you, too!

It’s a pleasure to read these introductions, learn a bit about you, and all of the other interesting folks in this group.
A bit about me… I came to blogging back in 1998-1999 through Rebecca Blood and Jorn Barger. My blog; knowledgeer-at-large has been up an down several times over the years, and though I haven’t proven to be the most avid about the practice, deep down I love it. I love blogging for the same reason I’ve always thought it was important. That is, as a means for me to pursue learning, not only about the world around me but more importantly about my reflections upon what I had learned and most importantly, about myself. And although we do seek to serve our readers, I’ve come to believe that as writers, we are the true.benefactors of the pursuit.
I hope to learn more about this pursuit with all of you.Terry Yelmenehttp://www.knowledgeeratlarge.net

• Hi everyone,

My name is Sean Keyes. I began my online adventure with the software company Uniblue.com before moving to Pagemodo.com the Facebook pages company. I now co-own http://www.AvalanShare.com, we have a social media product to allow online stores to reward their customers for sharing their product or service across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+ and also email.

I am interested to hear from bloggers who are looking for social media products to talk about. We will help to provide you with as much content and support as possible.

I would also like to talk to social media experts who may provide social media services to clients. We are an online tool but there is great scope for social media gurus to offer AvalanShare as a service to their clients. They can offer the product to their clients and manage the product for them for example.

Finally I would also like to speak to site owners especially online stores as we can really help to increase your social media presence whilst also bringing you quality customers.

I also look forward to speaking to everyone who forms this community.

Very best regards

Sean Keyes

• Hello everyone,

My name is Lorraina and I am so glad that I joined!! I can see that there are so many successful, motivated and intelligent people in here. I am a new affiliate marketer (my site will be live in about 3 weeks,) and I write copy for a living. I have a site with three real great affiliates. I put my heart and soul into this site and I’m extremely excited. This is a red-moment for me because I was extremely ill for about 5 years and it took everything out of me. Now that I am well, I made the decision to learn everything that I needed to know about affiliate websites and marketing/social media. I realize that there is tons of info out there, but I seem to understand it quickly because I love it and it fascinates me. I won’t quit until I’m successful. I love this site because I’m always learning from it.
I’m happy to be here and will take any and all advice that anyone may want to throw my way!!
Thank you for reading my reply and I wish everyone here the best of luck.
Cheers,
Lorraina

• Hello,

I’m Nilmini Klur, and new but not-so-new to Social Media (I know, sounds like an oxymoron), but I can learn anything.

I’m trying to set up an on-line business (freelance support services for the legal industry.) I both want to learn about how to do so and share useful information that I gather or ideas that I develop with others.

• Hello fellow forum members,

I’m a new member and my name is Henry. I specialize in Internet Market Planning, consulting, website development & highly effective ecommerce software solutions.

I’m looking forward to being a part of this like minded community!

• I haven’t figured out why I like this site so much…I’m the geeky type and don’t have the hang of social media yet….

I’ve been optimizing websites for two years and at long last got around to having my own website: cyberturfstrategic.com. Since I seem to be constantly emailing my clients and friends articles and videos, having a blog will be a way for me to do that without feeling like the mother who is always sending another tedious or kooky newspaper clipping.

But I really need to learn how to loosen up…maybe spiking my coffee with whiskey? :) I also need to learn about embedding graphics and other ways to make text visually appealing. Glad you guys are here to help!

• Hi all!

I’m an online marketing consultant to local businesses and experts, and I have no experience whatsoever with blogs… other than reading them everyday ;) . That needs to change really fast as it looks like I’ll be blogging for a startup company I’m working with. I’m hoping to learn what it takes to be an effective blogger, and I hope to make some really good connections along the way. Thanks for letting me be a part of this group!

• Hi, all, and greetings from Canada!

I’m a veteran of public relations and marketing communications (23 years and counting).

For the last 13 years I have been a communications department of 1 for a large (25,000+ member) organization that does not and will not use social media.

At 51 years of age I have decided to teach myself how to use social media and, just as important, how to integrate it into my communications plans. That’s the topic of my very first blog (1 post, with many more to come).

Cannot wait to start learning from y’all. Also happy to provide a 51-year-old newbie’s perspective, for what that’s worth.

Judy

Oh, and my first question, how do I make the links to my blog and twitter account (see below) live in this post?

• Hello, all! My name is Tom Hall. I am the inbound marketing/content manager for 3 sister companies; Complete Floor Care Solutions, Sayyah’s Cleaning, and Engineered Coatings Technology (website under construction). In addition to that, I have my own personal blog at http://www.thetomhall.com. I began doing social media marketing and blogging full time this past September and I love meeting other bloggers and “internet folk”. My goals are to continue to grow in my knowledge of this field and use that knowledge to drive in business for my companies. Ultimately, I would like to have my own social media company.

• Hi everyone! I’ve just joined the network this week so I should introduce myself!

My name is John O’Brien. My story in a nutshell: Presently, I am a Postgraduate student of Digital Marketing with the Digital Marketing with the Digital Marketing Institute in Ireland. My background is actually in sales but with recession hitting hard in Ireland, I was made redundant at the end of last year. Following this I made the decision to pursue both an education and a full time career in digital, an area I have had a serious interest in for the past two years.

In addition to my course, I am now doing an internship with a local web development company who specialise in ecommerce development and also offer online marketing services to clients, the area of the business I am now responsible for.

I also have a degree of web design experience having worked on a number of websites using CMS platforms Wordpress, Joomla and Magento.

I am currently in the process of putting a blog site together which will be going live next month. This blog will focus on all things digital: SEO, PPC and Adwords, Analytics, and of course Social will feature heavily!

http://www.thebusinessyourein.com

So that’s me. I look forward to engaging with you all and I’m sure I will learn a lot in the process.

• Hello All,
Glad to have found the Social Media Examiner. I am not new to the Web but trying very hard to get up to date on Twitter and Facebook and Social Media in total to assist me in my business.
After over 30 years in Healthcare Administration, Billing and Collections, I am now working on my photography and my online shopping business and looking to blog about Healthcare issues.
My website http://www.shop.com/shopchangers helps people get paid for the products they use every day. I am looking forward to helping others who want to team with me to grow this amazing business.
I will be a sponge for the information I read and learn here. Appreciate any and all insight the group has to offer.

• @barbc You are so right about adding a scroll to bottom to add your comment! I too am new to social media and I am going to learn everything possible from this blogging group. I have decided to start a blog. I have started a home craft business in October 2011. My craft business is mostly stained glass, mosaics and home decor items. I have joined all the social media sites for my business, now I am ready to add a blog. I will need all the advice possible! My first step is what platform do I use? I would love to add my link to my pages but can’t do that? My iPad does not let me use the above links? You will have to connect through my profile. I am looking forward to this group.

• My name is Val Curtis. My background is in Biology and Secondary Education, however I blog about seasonal gardening and eating. When I had my first child, my interest in what I was eating and what thehe would be eating became a bit of an obsession. My blog starts as a way to document our journey of our garden and island living. As we started to reap the benefits of our garden, I added in seasonal cooking and some fun with photography. Stop on by and see what our garden is up to and what is on the menu this week. <a href "http://www.mental-chew.com" Mental Chew

I’ve known about Social Media Examiner for sometime now, but it wasn’t until just recently that I found out there were clubs/groups with which we can network.

• Hi everyone,

Nice to find a community of people sharing the same interests : great to meet you all!
I’ve been working on the corporate side of the house for social media for the past 12 months (since we created our newly formed team) and very interested in learning about everyone’s experience from a corporate standpoint of blogging.

My main challenge today isn’t so much getting the people excited to blog (most of them love it once they taste fame) but finding a delicate balance between what the company wants and what the blogger decides he/she wants to blog about. I’d love to hear back from anyone who has faced this and learn from your best practices.
If any of you have experiences with worldwide blogging, I’d love to connect with you : we have many different cultures with different needs (hint : China) that really need some special TLC.

Here’s our corporate blog link : it’s all work in progress since this is such a new platform!

• Hi everyone,

I wrote my first blog (Reinventing Myself) a few weeks ago & haven’t let anyone know about it. Anything about social media marketing, I learned from Social Media Examiner, which is why I thought I’d launch my blog here.

For 30 years I loved going to work at the NYS Dept of Labor as a career counselor for unemployed professionals. In retirement, I joined groups, took seminars, met friends for lunch & then I took a 2 hour class on beading & 1 year later, my business, BeadZbyRoZ was born.

One of my goals is to inspire others over 65 or 68 or 72, that it is not too late to start again. I did not know that I had a talent for creativity or a head for business. Mostly, didn’t think I could ever get the knack of social media marketing. I still get stumped alot as the technology is mind boggling.

I have so many questions about blogging, which I want to do for many reasons. It is a way for me to let others know about the path & joy of reinventing oneself. It is a way for me to share my journey & get the word out about my jewelry (maybe this is part of branding). It is a way for me to connect to more people.

My very first question is: Using wordpress, on dashboard, they offer JETSTAR. Shoould I do this & why?

How do I promote my blog & have subscribers/followers?

That’s it for starters.

You can read my Blog @ http://blog.BeadZbyRoZ.com/

You can view my jewelry @ http://www.BeadZbyRoZ.com

Find me on Facebook @ http://www.facebook.com/BeadZbyRoZ/

You can sign up for my monthly newsletter covering topics related to jewelry thru my website or facebook profile, Roslyn Tanner Evans.

I am so looking forward to being a part of this club.

I own a small copywriting and more business in the Sacramento, CA area. After a career in technology and nonprofit I decided it was time to strike out on my own. I love to put words to use to effectively express ideas, opinions and beliefs.

There is so much I have to learn about blogging as I am just getting started. Thank you all for your valuable insights.

• Hi Everyone,

I’m a reflexologist and intuitive life coach. My website is Redmond Reflexology
When I’m not providing reflexology and coaching, I’m freelance writing/blogging; providing local companies with SEO/SEM services; providing photography and Photoshop services; and steadily building my Internet Empire.
My goals are to create enough passive income to take me into old age and to write/blog from anywhere I please – I’m well on my way :-)

I look forward to hearing more and learning more from everyone. It’s great to be here!

My name is Victor. Aside from being a misplaced Canadian living in the US (15 years now!) I am an I.T. professional looking to refocus my career back to Marketing, which was my original love in college. To that end I am currently studying for a Marketing focussed MBA and diving into inbound marketing in social media.

My bog is http://wwwiebe.com/victor (yes, I’m a very straightforward person) and it includes photography and the more interesting aspects of my MBA studies.

• Hey everyone, I’m Jenn. I currently set up and manage Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and Google+ pages for companies that hire me. I also blog for them. I thought joining a group of peers that may do the similar thing would help me out, so here I am. I hope to make some new friends and learn some new tips and tricks. Especially since I seem to have writers blog pretty often.

• @kristi-hines @mike-stelzner @phil-mershon @glengorham

Hi Kristi, Mike, Phil, Glen, and everyone. It’s a pleasure to meet you all!

I’m Mellissa Thomas, a freelance copywriter, blogger, copy editor, and proofreader that helps businesses and entrepreneurs streamline their marketing message to more effectively communicate with their clients and customers. I work in the entertainment business, entrepreneurship, and Christian arenas, and blog about the first two at E.i. Geek.

I’m a baby blogger (began seriously blogging in January 2012), but have fallen in love with it and am looking to grow. Feel free to check out E.i. Geek and let me know your thoughts on it (especially what I can improve).

I look forward to connecting with you great people!

• Hello Folks,

I am also a new kid wondering around the Blogging world. Based in the UK I blog about spirituality, music and trying to help people see the woods from the trees in these crazy messed up times. I am very interested in the progression of social media and how it has become such a powerful tool.
