  • Hi Everyone!
My name is Daun Jacobsen. I started personal blogging in 2002 on Blogspot and kept it up off and on since that time across various platforms as a stay at home mom. Now that my youngest is about ready for school I’ve become quite a bit more serious about blogging professionally.  I’m  in the process of revamping my entire site so there isn’t much visible at the moment:
    http://www.daunjacobsen.com

It’s been a struggle to create something symbiotic from my writing across many interests but by golly I think…we may be getting there. =)  Seeing how Kristi has organized herself has helped a lot.
The last couple years have been spent immersing myself in social media and marketing books/webinars/seminars learning as well as working toward becoming certified in coaching so that I can add to the skills I have to launch my business which assists women entrepreneurs and business owners to understand and employ blogging, online marketing and social media to create a measurable return on investment and reach their full potential.

  • Good morning from the Spacecoast in Florida.  I’m the owner of a franchise called My Network One.  We’re passionate about leveling the playing field when it comes to smaller businesses.  My Network One is a system where a small business owner can create/implement their own marketing effort without breaking the bank.  Of course, social media is the base.

I’m former career Air Force having duty stations in the United Kingdom and Berlin, Germany as well as all over the midwestern states.

I’m relatively new to Social Media, but recognize that is where we need to develop if our business is to succeed.

I’m wowed at who has posted and where they are in the world!  I’m looking forward to learning and sharing with all of you!!!

  • Hi All,

Golfer, wife, dog-lover, and certified social media specialist.  In July of 2011 I launched my consulting business Time2Mrkt.  My goal is to help the small business and not-for-profit agencies that can’t afford full-time marketing people begin using or expand their reach with digital media.  I am in the NW suburbs of Chicago.  One of my specialties is teaching LinkedIn to users in hands-on labs or one-on-one.

In April, I will be teaching a social media certificate course for a local community college geared to the small business entrepreneur.

My husband and I own a custom home building and remodeling company calledCreekwood Homes.

After reading many of your profiles, you are in the same game and along the way I liked your page.  I would appreciate if you would like mine as well.

  • Hi everyone!

I’m Jen, a mommy blogger who isn’t afraid of the label :) My little corner of the web is Life With Levi, a natural parenting blog. I’m also in the process of launching two other sites that in different blogging genres.

Blogging is my hobby – by day I’m a boring business analyst. I know a lot of people see their blogs as their business, and although I often treat mine that way, it’s first and foremost my creative outlet.

Looking forward to getting to know you all and your sites!

  • Hello everyone! I have recently started blogging to promote my resume writing business The Resume Resource. I have to admit it is time consuming and not my favorite activity. I am hoping to learn some tips from all of you to increase my effectiveness.  Then I’ll be eager to blog!

  • Hi Everyone!

  • Sabrina Mantle here, multi media artist and blogger. Have been blogging for over one year now about living cheaply, not poorly at my blog elementalcheapness.com. There I talk about anything and everything that you can do to save money and still enjoy life.

  • Hello, all.

I am a Social Media Coordinator for a small business located in New Jersey. I was hired to help right blogs and help the business get known throughout the internet. So far, it has been a little slow but I have only been with them for two months so they is much time to progress.

I’m looking to learn a lot on blogging that can help get consumers to be informed about what we do.

  • What an amazing group of talented people!

My name is Phil Lauterjung, but you can call me Phil…most people don’t get the last name right anyway. I live in Mission Viejo, CA with my wife and best friend for over 30 years. We have 4 grown children and 7 1/2 (the 1/2 will be here in May) grandchildren. Plus I’m the oldest of six siblings, so our family gatherings tend to be large and lots of fun!

For the past few years, after 25+ years in corporate sales & marketing leadership positions, I have owned Integrated LeadGen Results (ILG Results). I chose that name because everyone wants great leads that produce results (sales revenue), but most leave out the “integrated” part of their marketing. I provide that as a Duct Tape Marketing Consultant. Our network of marketing consultants is spread around the world and covers every type of business you could think of, so no matter what business someone might be in we have a consultant with experience.

You can find me using Social Media a lot. I was a graduate of Mike’s first Social Media Success Summit a couple of years ago and recommend it highly to anyone wanting to learn about it in depth.

Here are a few links and I invite you to connect with me – and I will follow you back:

    Twitter: Phil_Lauterjung
    LinkedIn: Phil Lauterjung
    Facebook: ILG Results

I believe firmly in being a life-long learner and I look forward to learning from all of you. See you in the forums!

  • Aloha, my name is Cory and I’m a local fitness professional (personal trainer), gym owner and motivational speaker in the West Michigan area.

I’m excited about being a part of this group and learning from each other. I use social media quite a bit to keep my clients and other who are following up-to-date about events, training tips, etc…I would like to learn how I can better utilize social media to grow my business and make my sites more appealing.

  • What fun to see some familiar faces (Hi Eugen!) and lot’s of new ones. Kristi, I really enjoyed your essay in Engagement from Scratch – good stuff! I just finished reading Michael Stelzner’s book, Launch. Wow – absolutely fabulous book!

    OK, enough name dropping…

I am a Professional Virtual Assistant - sort of my day job. And my passion is Our Special Families Village – for Families with Special Needs Family Members.

I just left another (paid) community site because I became dissatisfied with the attitudes of the founders. I’ve been a fan of SME for a long time so I was really excited to see the invite to join in my inbox – and on Christmas Eve, too!

I’m looking forward to getting to know you all better. If you have any questions on Virtual Assistants, please feel free to ask. And if you know someone who has a Special Needs Family Member, I hope you’ll share Our Special Families Village with them.

    Thanks!Sandra

  • Hello everyone:

Occasionally I write a personally focused blogs that tie to our work and mission. Mainly, I facilitate blogs by others on our staff or in our programs. Ours is more a news-log..little stories of the work we do. So I’m eager to connect with all of you and continue to sharpen my blogging strategy.

  • Hello!  I am a new blogger (just started last month) focusing on life, stress and humor.  I know that life happens to everyone, but I often forget to put my helmet on.  I have a lifetime of experience with extreme stress, depression, anxiety and its effect on the mind and body.  I was actually turned away by a therapist because my life was too stressfull for him to deal with.  My response, “Are you kidding me?!”  I then proceeded to laugh (though somewhat hysterically).  I’m much better now (wild eyes and cheesy grin).

Having had to navigate my way through the darkness of severe chemical depression and crushing anxiety with naught but family, friends and (20 years later) a caring psychologist I want to extend my hand to others.  Life should be lived; not just survived.  I would appreciate any feedback as I try to share what I have learned.  If you want to know about the title, I will be sharing that soon.

  • Hi Everybody!

Glad to be here!  I’ve an editing service staffed by PhDs. We’ve edited over 21,000 docs since 1999 w/a perfect BBB record. Check us out at http://edit911.com.

I still have a whole lot to learn about blogging, but thanks to Mike and his marvelous contributors, I’ve learned a lot over the past year.

Like most of us, I’m very busy and somewhat overwhelmed by the demands of producing excellent content several times a week. I have lots to say but not lots of time to say it, what with my teaching, my business, and my 6 year old boy!

Wishing all of you the best!Marc

  • Hi All!
My name is Meagan, and I’m the Owner and Creative Director of Sunshine and Sippy Cups. I lost my job a little over a year ago, while I was on maternity leave. So, since the job market – as you know – kinda sucks, I decided to jump into the web, and start a business for myself.
I knew NOTHING about blogging. All I knew about social media was that I loved Facebook. I am totally tech-challenged. But – things have gone better than I could have imagined – I love what I do now!
My blog is my business – I do this full time, and am always working on building new partnerships. This year has seen some super cool accomplishments –  I was named a winner of the Home Based 100 on StartUp Nation, my homemade baby food recipes will be featured in the new Baby Brezza cookbook, my “Busy Mom Solution” tips were featured in All You Magazine – I’m having an absolute blast in this adventure!
I’d LOVE to connect with some of you – It’s always fun to meet new faces! You can find me here:

  • Hey everyone!  My name is Sarah and I’m a former healthcare executive currently pursuing my MHA.  I’ve taken a break from corporate life and in the process of transitioning to a SAHM, I’ve discovered a love for blogging.  I’m currently managing two blogs http://east9thstreet.com and http://momsofjonesboro.com.  I consider myself to know enough information to be dangerous and look forward to networking with all of you.

  • Hi everyone! My name is Nikki, and I’m the owner/author of Pretty Opinionated. It’s mostly a review blog, although I’m working on expanding it this year to include a wider variety. I started the blog in Jan 2011, and although it’s not huge, I think I’ve come a long way since my first post!  I’m also a freelance writer and mom to a six-year-old boy.

I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone and making new connections!

  • Good afternoon! My name is Janice Clark. I own a social strategy and virtual solutions business.  My blog is http://www.bizmsolutions.com/blog.  I typically post easy to understand social media & business marketing advice. Examples: How to use Hootsuite and Tweeting 101. We ran an Edgerank experiment to help small businesses play around with their own Facebook pages and determine how to get the most engagement.  I give specific instructions, include screenshots, etc to help make technology a bit more user friendly and offer step by step explanations for how to get results from your social media efforts.

I’ve been very excited about the Networking Club ever since I first heard about it! I’m looking forward to seeing some old faces and meeting a few new people as well!!

  • Hello there! I’m Melissa. I am a full-time social media manager at a trade association, the owner of the social media marketing firm and blog (SocialAmateur.com), mother of two and Twitter addict (@socialamateur).

  • Hello everyone! I have enjoyed looking through some of your blogs. I have had my blog for a long time…not sure when I did sign up for it. It sat for quite some time really. Then, one day I started to play with it. Did a little bit of this, and a little bit of that, and it started to change. I let it be for a while, then I went back to it again. At first feeling foolish spending time with it, and trying to learn things to work with it. As time went along I realized having a blog is a good thing, and it does help me get seen along with other social medias I participate in. I have my main domain directed to it, and another domain to one of my other pages.

As I tell everyone, it is nothing fancy, doesn’t have all them bells and whistles like some, I have had to learn and teach myself what I am doing…like many things, but the blog is me. I enjoy blogging – more than working on a website, and will keep doing it as I keep learning more about it:)

Good Luck everyone, and I hope to see, and learn more by being a part of this group too.

  • Hi Everyone-

My name is Jerry Kidd and my main blog is http://RealtyTechBytes.com which I have been publishing weekly for 4 years now.  I lost 65 pounds in 2008 and got so tired of telling everyone how I did it that I wrote the whole process up at http://LiveThinBlog.com.

I help others create Wordpress blogs as blogs or as web sites and am constantly interested in learning about Wordpress and blogging in general.

  • Hi Everyone,I’m excited to b a part of this awesome community.  I’m a blogger, blog consultant and voice over actor.  I help busy entrepreneurs get their blogs set up, but my goal is to  create more passive income from my personal blogs so I can do more traveling and having fun. • I don’t think I’ve introduced myself in this club yet. Am blown away by the diversity of blogs you all write. Can’t wait to start following some, especially the marketing ones. I am Cas and I founded a little biz here in Ipswich Queensland called Mumatopia two years ago. In March last year I also adopted the micro biz support community Support a WAHP. Am enjoying having two income streams from two entirely different businesses. Mumatopia is a social enterprise dedicated to nurturing mothers. So I blog about parenting, childbirth, pregnancy and the like on that blog (http://mumatopia.com) and Support a WAHP is feeding my need to write about marketing and small business development. Recently I’ve started blogging every week day but have taken a wee break over Christmas to regroup and do some website maintenance. I mostly blog about social media tips, business tips, work life balance, craft businesses and anything relevant to working from home. Great to meet you all!

  • Good Morning!!  My name is Ann Marie Cain and I am the online marketing specialist for a pest control company in Georgia.  Social media is such an ever-evolving world and I’m excited to be part of a forum such as this to help to keep up with it!

  • Hi Everyone!

I am Mark and I have been blogging about diabetes and other health issues for about 3 1/2 years. I started right after being diagnosed with diabetes. My goal between blogging and our organization was to bring diabetics together in a fight for a cure but as of now that idea is not working out due to the influence of higher groups.

So as I renew for 2012 I am looking at how other organizations that I am involved with like LIVESTRONG and others bring everyone together to accomplish their goals and then write and speak about it about it.

To do this I am bringing out the past of a very serious disease that I lived with for 56 years. I was diagnosed with Polio at the age of 1. I am a survivor of it in a way where I don’t wear braces. I think writing and speaking about overcoming that could be a way to get over 600 million people walking around undiagnosed with diabetes to listen to someone who did also but overcame many obstacles in life including that disease.

Could use a great deal of help on this matter as I revamp.

    ThanksMark

  • Hi!

I LOVE social media, technology, and love to learn more about it every minute of the day!  I LOVE writing, blogging, and writing some more, just as much as LOVE reading, learning, and adding to my knowledge base.

I am an small business owner who consults with businesses who are between five and 50 employees, but don’t yet have the revenue to support a full-time Human Resources Manager on staff.  I come into the business, audit files, processes, procedures, provide feedback, assist in or write employee manuals (handbooks), as well as assist in compensation (job description and salary range) planning for ADA/EEOC purposes, as well as help build compensation plans (salaries, job descriptions, etc.).

Another thing I do – because of my 22+ years in Human Resources and Recruiting, I have a in-depth SME knowledge of resume writing to get jobs or change careers.  I have specific knowledge about 21st century recruiting methods that will get job seekers ‘ahead of the crowd’ when it comes to getting seen by recruiters and headhunters.  I search engine optimize the resumes to get to the top of queue from searches in resume databases or on the Internet.

The third thing I do – I create and establish Social Media packages for customers who are not technology savvy to do it themselves, or need the social media networking capabilities for career changes, job search, or business development.  I have a package that power-builds an initial set of rich social media for customers, and they can take it from there, or they can use me to assist in managing their social media networking on a one-time, weekly, or retainer (monthly to annual) basis.

  • Hey everyone!
I’m online media specialist from Slovenia. I’m also a blogger. I write news, guides and other stuff about social media.

At the moment i’m working on multi-author blog {my idea} called sociallabs.si ! It’s for experts in Slovenia.

  • My is Rhi.

I live in Southern California. I have a precocious 8-year-old daughter who wears me out and a wonderful husband.

I also have CFIDS & Fibro, so it has been hard juggling life, family & work. I had to quit my job to be a SAHM and hopefully help my health. It is hard since I am extremely driven and have been working since I was 14.

I started doing free lance Web Design a few years ago to feel productive as well as helping some of the non-profits I belong to with their social media. While doing this, I fell in love with all things social media and have recently decided to start a new web business, The Parent 411.

I am hoping it will become a one-stop place for all parents to come to find what they are looking for. The goal for the site is to feature parent bloggers.

  • Hello to all!

I’m Dan Howard from good ol’ Indiana… I’m an online entrepreneur, serious coffee drinker(DD or Starbucks), social media strategist and marketing technologist. I have been learning and implementing the ever changing IM game for 7 years now on and off. Full time now and making it happen in 2012 along side you great folks!

Feel free to connect with me on Linkedin or my FB page!

I never really utilized my Internet Marketing knowledge to the capacity I should have.

Until recently, I made a dream a reality. I got tired of watching local businesses fail around Indiana and I wanted to help. So, I started a company to help change lives!

“Changing Lives, One Business at a Time!”

Helping businesses truly reach their full potential has many effects on the community and the economy. It helps the community thrive and creates jobs, which will help touch individual lives and create stability.

I help businesses get the most out of their marketing by leveraging the power of new Internet Marketing Platforms and improve their Market Positioning.

    The meaning behind the name…

New Life Marketing came to be because I wanted my company name to mean something. My services will hopefully help bring New Life to businesses and to others everyday living. Giving some the time and freedom to do more.

    L ive.

    I nspire.

    F reedom.

    E njoy.

Live fully, Inspire others, create Time Freedom, Enjoy LIFE and help others!

I’m Dan Howard and I help change lives! :)

    Thanks for reading!

Promises for 2012…Blog more, be more active on my social pages and create more training products.

  • Looks nice out here! I started my first blog back in 2007 – it’s still live but I can’t update it that often:

    http://www.seosmarty.com/

I have been blogging and guest blogging around the web since then: I used to be the Editor-in-Chief for Search Engine Journal, but resigned to become a solo entrepreneur.

Now I am the owner of MyBlogGuest, the free community connection guest authors to blog owners.

  • Hello!

I run Gadarian Digital, an online marketing company based just outside of Boston.  I’ve been in business for 3+ years after having spent about 15 years in Los Angeles working in television.  My firm provides strategic services mainly for small businesses.  Most of our clients tend to start with us providing them what we call a “Digital Roadmap” and from there a good handful of them tend to keep us around….

I got into this crazy business after starting a news blog (MostMost) to teach myself how to be a relevant TV producer and here I am…  The news blog is no longer updated but hopefully one day I’ll be able to pick it up again.

Feel free to poke around my site and my socials to get a better sense of me and if you would like to connect I’d love to do so.

    Best,

    David

  • Hello Kristi and all the others of the Community.

  • Hi Everyone! My name is Tabitha- my blog Dirt Cheap Diva has only been around since late October, so I am brand new at this!  It all started with a free on-line blogging class and I was in love.  I currently am trying to balance the blog, a part time job as an ER nurse, being a Navy Reservist, and being married with 1 and 2 1/2 year old boys.  Yikes!  It doesn’t help that I am totally type-A and want my blog to be absolutely perfect…needless to say, I have no free time :)  I am really excited to get to know all of you and learn from you.  I have learned so much from other bloggers already!  My long-term goal is to blog professionally and be able to be a stay-at-home mom.  Wish me luck!

  • I am a freelance graphic designer, and I also work in the technology department of a private school mostly doing PR and their website updates. I currently have two blogs—one I update once a month which covers current web trends and whether or not to implement them on current sites http://noldorweb.com/blog and the other started out as a writing blog (I am also an author) and turned into more of a commentary on religion and science fiction http://imaginationlane.net/blog I’m looking forward to meeting other bloggers!

  • Hello from the great Canadian north country.  My name is Corey Blackmur and I’ve just recently become involved with Social Media Examiner and Networking Clubs.

I have joined all three clubs because I have an interest in all the topics.  I do blog, but not on a regular basis, one of those things that I have to put on my schedule of to do’s so that I actually get it done on a regular basis.

I hoping I can learn from the members here on the various benefits of blogging for building my online presence and business.  I’m looking forward to connecting with other like minded people in this club; you can check my profile and if you find that it may be beneficial for us to make a connection, please contact me.

  • Hi All,I am Sam, I am a web developer and a beginner in the blogging world however eager to learn more. I started my blog late last year (2011). My aims for the blog are to build a small but loyal community who can take value from my posts. It is aimed at people within the web industry, whether that is copy writers, business owners, developers, designers etc.

The blog itself isn’t used as a business as I only want to help and share the information that I have learnt.

You can view my blog at stuffedweb.com

I look forward to see how this network can help!

  • Hi I’m Alison and I’m from the UK, living near Oxford. I’ve had a variety of blogs for years but my current personal one is Stuff and Nonsense.

I run my own business – I started off doing proofreading and editing, but over the last 18 months I’ve found myself building WordPress sites and blogs, writing blog articles and even doing some social media management – which is all a bit weird really! My business site is The Proof Fairy

Really looking forward to engaging with people here!

  • Hi there!
I have recently started a new blog for the working parent called
HomeOfficeHustle.com (The dance of the work at home parent).

I found that parents who work full time, AT home, have a unique challenge separating their work space from their home space, sticking to various boundaries (time, setting office hours, etc), and evaluating products that serve a dual purpose of being a work tool and a home tool.

I’m starting to feature other WAHP home offices (Home Office Tour) so if you are interested email me homeofficehustle[at] gmail [dot] com with a few short sentences about your home office, your job or business (include links too) and a photo or two of your home office.

I’m sorting through emails but I’ll follow up with a few interview questions that you can answer too!

    Thanks!
    Janine

  • Good morning, afternoon, or evening… wherever in the world you are :)

I’m Daryll.  I was a community manager back in 1996 when there wasn’t even a job title for it.  I’ve used just about every community platform there is as an administrator.  Jive, Lithium, Telligent, phpBB, DNN, Wordpress, you name it.

Over the last 5 years, I transitioned from a community manager into a social media strategist.

Now, I’m the manager of communities and social media at Quest Software, a B2B software company.

My interests in this site primarily lie in my enjoyment of helping others learn about this space.  I’m also interested in connecting with people who might end up (or want to be partners in) a consulting business as soon as I build up the cajones to do it :)

You can see some of the communities/blogs I’ve founded here:

  • Hi fellow bloggers,

I am from Florida. I have a nonprofit organization, Ark of Hope for Children for which I am Executive Director and a survivors coach. We are raising awareness of, creating advocates for, providing mentor/counseling care, and soon hands on care; for young child abuse and child trafficking victims. Most of what I blog about has to do with child abuse, the affects of it, etc, and promoting our nonprofit while attempting to raise funds. I look forward to insights I get her and hope they will prove helpful to the nonprofit community as well. Blog of Hope

  • Hello Everyone,

Where to start?  I know at the beginning.  I’m Judy, nickname Red, and have been a small business owner for several years, but just recently started a business that requires me to learn all this new “social” stuff.  That is why I’m here because I know nothing and need to learn everything.

What I do now is design perfume, and all natural skin and hair care products.  What I did before was own a daycare.  I know the burning question is how did you get from daycare to skin care?  Many years ago I was a licensed cosmetologist so it was a natural change.

Here I am ready to make social media and marketing work to my advantage.  I’m going to need lots of help.

If you are interested in my products this is where you will find them at http://www.heartlandsos.com.

    See you on the threads.

  • Hello
I am very new to blogging and am happy to have this opportunity to join this group to learn – and maybe even to contribute. i have just started two blogs, both connected to my business of a small hotel in Marrakech. One of the blogs is to highlight the creative side of Marrakech and what is happening in design, arts, etc. The other is to offer information on people who are interested in travelling to Marrakech. It’s still at a very early stage – i’ve been sidelined learning as much as i can in a short space of time about social media–much of the information coming from Social Media Examiner. Look forward to the interesting exchanges.

  • Hi Everyone
Well you can see my name so I won’t bother with that. I have only been blogging for two years but have managed to build two functioning WordPress sites. http://www.mlm2gether.com is for supporting those wanting to start marketing online and  http://onlinevideomarketing.ws is for video marketers and has a Shopping Cart. I am a lifetime member of a site that assists those  wanting to build a business site using WordPress and the Thesis Theme for WordPress. I love Thesis because whenever there is an update to the theme I only have to download 2 files, install the update and load those two files again and the site is exactly the same.  I remember once taking a week to restore a site because of a theme update.
Anyway enough rant about that. I have a Social Media profile under the ID mlm2gether (Marketing Learning and Mentoring Together).  Except for YouTube most of these are up to date and if you Google the ID you will see more.  Thanks.

  • Hello!

So glad this club exists. I’m new to the world of blogs. I created my first blog a couple of months ago: http://www.toriphung.com. It’s true what they say, small wins can give you a boost of confidence, which is what happened when I got my first comment after only a second post.

I look forward to checking out everyone else’s blogs and learning from you all! My experience has been in marketing and advertising. Right now I’m in a graduate program concentrating in Marketing.

  • Hi Clubbers,

I’m a London-based journalist, specialising in TV entertainment magazines.

I started CrimeTimePreview 16 months ago to fuse my TV knowledge with my interest in online journalism and crime fiction. I’ve learned a lot, made interesting contacts and been surprised at how much access bloggers get to official resources alongside mainstream media.

The blog is also growing rapidly – I was offered sponsored links in the run-up to Christmas – and I’m eager to develop it further this year.

Looking forward to meeting members and learning about other blogger’s experiences.

    Best, Robin

  • My name is Seleana Hobbs.   I am a social media consultant and internet marketer.   I follow blogs all the time and want to start my own blog but want to make sure that I fully understand what it takes to maintain a blog before getting started with it.  I know that it is also a great way to drive traffic to your website and social networks.
I am looking forward to working with everyone and learning a lot.

  • Hi everyone!Wow! Such great topics and bloggers here! I can’t wait to go and read your work, and start getting to know you all individually!I specialize in helping brands protect themselves, and develop the right social medi crisis plan for their brand – or their clients’ brands, depending. I release two white papers a month, in a blog format. It’s not a blog exactly, but that was my goal! I wanted to really continue to help brands strengthen their social media crisis strategies, and for me, that meant providing more detail and research, then a blog, so I decided to write my content in the form of a white paper! If this is a topic that interests you, I welcome you to subscribe to my feed and receive my two white papers a month. I’ve posted the link below!http://www.socialmediacrisisacademy.com/free-white-papers/See you around the clubs! Melissa

  • Hi everyone!Pleasure to join the group.I just completed my graduation and have started a SMM consultancy firm along with a couple of my friends. And since writing is something am very much interested in, I have also started blogging. You can find my posts at - http://vijayspaul.tumblr.com/I would be real glad if you could drop in suggestions as to how I can better improve myself in the field of blogging and also SMM.Looking forward to everyone’s expert opinions. Thanks!

  • Hey everyone.  I am a blogger…more in spirit than in fact…and I am always looking for advice/suggestions/comments on what I am doing and how I am doing it right or wrong.  I am always open to comments on what I say and whether you like it or not, agree or disagree.  I am always curious to know if I helped someone in any what with what I write…whether it be through cheering you up, or educating about something you didn’t already know.

I have two blogs.  One is – should I say – rather random.  It is called “A View From A Palmtree” and it is where I go to share my own views on events around the world.  I am not consistent, but I write as often as I find time or imagination or inspiration.  I might write three days consecutively one week then skip three weeks before the next posting.  My goal is to get more consistent on frequency. The purpose of the blog may never change.

My second blog is called “The Lost Green Thumb” and is my place for posting experiences with backyard gardening and chicken raising.  I have neglected this one lately, but my goal is to get more active this spring as I get back to gardening.  Even if my posts are 500 words or less, I want to make it more of a journal experience to share with others while looking for interaction with people of like interests.

If you would like to subscribe/follow my blogs I welcome you to my world.  And please feel free to message me any suggestions of what I should be doing differently and why.  If I find it helpful, I will make the change.  If I don’t, I still appreciate the advice.  It is my blog and I want it to reflect my feelings and views but I also want to make it enjoyable for all that read.

Props to those of you that are finding the success you hope for with your own blogs.  I will be there with you soon.

  • well hello friends!  I say friends because there are a lot of familiar faces here!  So glad to have everyone gathering in one place…

So, my name is Amy Parmenter, I am a journalist (NBC Connecticut) and I blog at the http://www.ParmFarm.com which I say is about ‘growing’, both personally and professionally.  But a better description might be stuff about my life that’s really about your life.

I try to make every interview on my site a fundraiser for my guest’s non-profit of choice — a feature I call ‘Give-a-Listen’.  Guests include artists, athletes, entrepeneurs, authors — you might have heard of Mike Stelzner??

Anyway, it’s a work in progress…I welcome feedback, so please ‘stop by’!

  • Hello everyone!

I’m Susan McCarron and I’m a certified Equine Appraiser. I’m basically a niche blogger since my blog, Results From the Sale Ring, deals with horse auctions. I report on sale prices and the economic condition of the equine market. Since it’s a blog mostly about numbers and prices, I’m always looking for new ways to make it more interesting.

  • Greetings everyone!

I’ve been blogging since 2004ish, initially as part of an MA I was doing. Almost a decade later and I’m still blogging and still trying to finish the MA :-) The difference is that now I blog for myself and others.

The length of time I’ve been actively blogging proves one thing for sure. Just because you do something for a long time doesn’t mean you get any better at it. This year I plan to get better at blogging, to really focus on form and function and to look at my own work more critically. The posts I’ve read in this forum have already helped with that.

The MA began as Distributed Learning aka Technologically Mediated Learning then shifted to Leadership and is now Interdisciplinary with a focus on the adoption of innovation.

Other stuff, I’m also a community manager for http://thoughtstream.ca, a health manager for a group of First Nations in the Fraser Canyon in BC Canada and do some consulting work in the areas of social media strategy and online curriculum design.

    I currently blog at:

    http://jamiebillingham.comhttp://thoughtstreamtools.comhttp://thoughtstreamblog.cahttp://chilliwackhealthiercommunity.com

    Oh, and I love WordPress!

  • Hmmph.. Clearly WordPress didn’t like my original list format lol

    I currently blog at:

  • Hello Everyone,I’m Stanford from Pushing SocialI’m excited about hanging out here with you folks.

  • Hi there

I am from Australia….and I am not a blogger….well at least not yet! I hope to be soon but thought I should join to learn from all you Masters out there! ;)

  • welcome to the crowd @libbythompson we have a lot of experienced bloggers here and a lot of great threads, if you have any questions you will definitely get some answers.

  • Thanks for your help @glengorham – I feel a bit like the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland – or maybe the Mad Hatter……so much to do…so little time!

  • Good evening and HELLO to everyone!
I am sad to say that I got the Beta invite but am just now getting time to join.  My apologies for arriving late to the game.

I am a Human Resources Manager from Hattiesburg, Mississippi working for the same Mississippi-based telecom provider for the past sixteen years.  My role within the company allows me to wear a multitude of different hats and social media is one that I seemed to inherit by default.  (You will find no argument from me on this!!)
My love has always been technology and writing – so social media just simply bridges those two.  I always wanted to be a writer when I was younger but life had a different path for me and I am eagerly anticipating writing more, connecting more, and learning more about this fantastic new form of communication.
I just began a blog today at http://kylemjones.us so feel free to visit the site.
I can also be contacted on LinkedIn, Google+, and Twitter.

  • Hello,

I have been blogging for others for some time and now I’m ready to blog myself. After helping establish two Search Engine Optimization and Social Media Optimization teams at two outsource companies in India I’m ready to go online myself now.

I have interests in the areas of

    • Search Engine Optimization
    • Social Media Optimization
    • Analytics implementation and reporting
    • WordPress development (including PHP and MYSQL)
    • Mobile technology usage in the field of education.
I have been blogging regularly at different places but one ‘base’ I have created is at http://bit.ly/blogofpalimadra where I try and blog in a quick way. Hoping to hear from you guys soon!

  • Hi Everyone!

It’s so great to be here and see all the interesting things everyone has going on!

I’m Kimberly Houston from lovely and charming Wilmington, NC, and I started my first blog in 2007, but didn’t really stick with it.  I started my next blog in 2009, which I did stick with, and that’s at http://wineandwalnuts.com/wordpress/, where I blog about eating, drinking, cooking, and reading in the not-so-deep-South. : )  This is my passion project, but it’s been on the back burner for the last few months as I ramp up and launch my other blog/business.  I plan to get back to blogging regularly there very soon, however.

I am a freelance writer and marketer, helping small food, wine and creative businesses learn to market online (and use tried-and-true “old school” marketing methods too) and I’ve (finally!) started a blog to support that work, which is here: http://kimberlydhouston.com/.  This blog is in its infancy at this writing at just 2 months old, but with consistent action, it will get where I want it to be. And where I want it to be is, consistently bringing in clients who can benefit from my knowledge in the arena of social media and other online marketing methods.  I have a feeling the content on the blog will morph into more than online marketing how tos however, as I have a huge interest in personal development and other similar topics.  : )

Once again, it’s so great to be a part of this community, and I look forward to networking with everyone!

    Cheers,

    Kimberly

  • Hey guys! This looks like it will be fun! I work for Hubze, Inc which most know from our Fan Page Engine product for Facebook. I change my official title every few weeks! Hard to encompass everything I do into one title! I manage all of our social presence basically. From Facebook to Twitter to Google+ to our Blog (which was just named the #4 social media blog by Social Media Examiner for 2012!!) to Podcasts and etc. As well as handle all of our training and assist with Support and of course Sales!
I fell into social media by accident when I started using Facebook for my own transport business about 2 years ago. Fell in love with it and quickly became the goto person to ask about how to use Facebook so I started a page called Pimp My Fan Page that garnered alot of attention. Which led me to work for Hubze. Pretty exciting stuff!
Feel free to Subscribe to me on Facebook and ask me any questions you want about Facebook or Google+ and I’ll be happy to answer them!

  • My name is Mark Oetjens. I am an author and General Manager at Conquer Publishing. I’m in the process of moving my personal blog about self-publishing to the company website. I’m trying to change in into more of a marketing blog. Wondering if I should migrate the whole thing or start from scratch. I only have a handful of followers on the personal blog.

  • Hello everyone!  As my desire to connect and the need to learn & grow spans all three groups, I’m jumping in to all three clubs here.  (Now to figure out how to best manage the flood of emails! :) )

It’s wonderful to see just how diverse this group is — location, professional background, as well as social media experience level!

In addition to working as a part-time legal assistant, I own/operate an antiques & collectibles online shop, with a Facebook page that has had slow but steady growth.   I started a blog after getting my Facebook page established, and really enjoy what that adds to the experience.  My biggest challenge has been working through that “I have to write” block and just unleashing the creative side.

My desire to gain a much deeper understanding of social media has brought me to realize that, with growth and refinement of the skills and experience I already have in place, I could also be of service to other local small business owners.

I’m looking forward to learning all that I can and, of course, helping whenever I can.  I should add, however, that with recent and upcoming webinars, as well as maintaining my normal weekly work schedule, my plate and brain are approaching maximum capacity, so I’ll be in nibble mode here for the next couple of weeks.  :)

  • Hello from NJ, I love these topics so much I’m joining all three clubs. What a bonus!

My name is Greg Buford and I am a Plastic Surgeon in Denver, CO.  I published a book last year (“Beauty and the Business”) on Marketing/Branding/Advertising for the aesthetic medical practice and I have had the opportunity to speak nationally on the topics of Practice Management, Social Media, and Business Development.  I recently co-launched an online consumer’s resource for Expert information in the areas of Health/Beauty/Wellness (www.beforliving.com) and am excited to grow and expand this over time.

  • Hei everyone. I am really new to this site. I have been following the Social Media Examiner on Facebook for a while though and liked the tips. I work in Marketing and PR and am responsible to keep up my companies blog (http://kiosked.com/blog) and I try to keep up a personal blog as well, original intended for friends back home to see how I am doing over here but it turned into more of a space where I can put my own thoughts on Finnish culture, difference between Finland and Germany and this kind of things- it’s: http://northbound2010.wordpress.com

So about me…I am turning 27 next week and am originally from a small island in northern Germany, my family has moved a lot due to my father’s job and years in Germany I lived in Berlin. However 1.5 years ago I decided to start studying again (after I had worked for 2 years in Berlin) and came to Helsinki to finish my master degree. Here I am now, writing my thesis and working in PR&Marketing and I wouldn’t change it :)

Besides working and schoolwork I do a lot of sports. Until I was 16 I competed in track and field running- long distance running. Now I still enjoy running and interval training in general- can only recommend that after a stressful day at work.

Most difficult thing I, and I suppose most others as well, about blogging I think is finding good content (and well keep the blog posts coming regularly). I hope I can learn about those issues here and am interested to see how y’all do this (jep that’s right I also used to live in Georgia, US once).

Have a nice day/ respective evening everyone.

  • Hi everyone,
greetings from London, UK. My name’s Otoabasi Umonting, and I’ve been marketing online for over two years now. I started my first blog in summer 2010, and joined a few blogging platforms back then to learn what it was all about.
Today I can say I have a pretty good blog site with information on social media, network marketing, video training, and product creation. You can access it by clicking this link.
I’ll look forward to connecting with you all. Cheers

We develop websites, and manage many Facebook Business Pages for local professionals and businesses.  I am usually too busy writing for my clients’ blogs, newsletters and websites to keep up with my own blog, but I keep trying… http://sandyketcham.com  I hope we can all learn from each other here!

  • Hello!  I’m Diane Yuhas and I’m a social media enthusiast who writes a personal blog about living out my faith in Christ. I’m mostly here as a consumer since my area of expertise lies elsewhere.  Offline, I stay home full-time to care for my mom who has Alzheimer’s.

  • Hi Everyone,

My name is Traci Danielson Mitchell. I’m a health and fitness blogger, and started http://www.tracidmitchell.com in 2010. I initially started writing to continue “practice” writing on my subject of expertise. Despite my blog getting me on The TODAY Show and every network in Chicago, my following is lagging.

I blog about three times a week – sometimes more, and occasionally less. My goal is to work on tactics that will make me a stronger blogger (better titles, integrating useful plugins, etc).

I’m really looking forward to connecting with you all.

    All the best,

    Traci

  • Hello,

So glad to be a part of the club. Excited to be here and learn lots and hope to share some tidbits too.
Great information I have already read.
    Thanks you

  • Thank you, Kristi! Hello, fellow bloggers!

I’m Lori Gama. I’m a Tech Woman, online since 1997. I enjoy helping entrepreneurs build online visibility through all forms of online marketing (web design, blog design, social media, social search optimization and SEO – search engine optimization). My first blog was way back in 1998, called “Granchester Meadows” (named after the song by Pink Floyd) and it was an online version of a literary magazine, showcasing my friends and I, who were/are writers and artists.  Somewhere along the way of  raising my (then) toddler son and starting up and building my web studio business, I let go of my blogging until 2008.

My current blog is called “Learn Social Networking” and has helpful articles about everything that’s related to building online visibility. You can find it here: http://dagamawebstudio.com/blog

If I could blog all day, I would have several blogs because I love to write and help people.

My biggest challenge is being consistent with my blogging. I also want to continue to develop my knowledge into products and build a subscriber list of fans who will find great value in what I offer and buy my products.

I look forward to making new friends here and hopefully feeling more accountable in blogging consistently. Thank you.

  • Oops! The link didn’t work in my previous reply. Here is the link to my blog: DaGamaWebStudio.com/blog  Thanks!
