Of course, local chambers of commerce are always good for locating sources, especially when you want a middle America expert. Just pick the name of any small town, call their chamber, and they’ll give you their favorite local tycoon to talk with. Adds a great local touch to those big country stories and keeps you from wearing out your readers with only sources in your own town.
Also, I often use speaker bureau or meeting sites or trade show sites to source experts. Since you can sort these listings by meeting date, seminar subject, and speaker name, it’s a great way to find expert speakers with knowledge on your subject fast.
