Do you include video in your posts? Just wondering how often you include them. If you start, should you keep it up daily weekly, monthly?

I’d take the question one more step along the path and ask if anyone has made a video specifically for a blog post. Something more than pointing to a video on YouTube.
I used to point to a video weekly but never made a video for the post.

@lkellandmay I include a random video in my Friday recap posts. I find it keeps people on the page that much longer.

Is id okay just to record yourself reading or commenting on a blog post?

I curate videos about once a week. They get good traffic and comments. Oddly people don’t comment on the page though. They email letters. Taking my own video is my next goal.

I don’t do it regularly, I just do it when I find something really interesting or curious for my readers and I add a brief comment, sometimes they can help. Lately this year, I’ve started thinking about posting some videos of my company about topics of discussion, in that case I would do it on a regular basis, maybe monthly.

Quite frankly I don’t. However, if it is specific information that would really impact what you are trying to convey and you are comfortable doing it then it should be considered.
I would not use videos that have links leading to other areas that may not be related to your information flow.

We do a short video that basically summarizes each blog post for several of our clients. We figure it gives visitors an option to either read the blog or watch/listen to a shorter version of that post.

On several sites, I include videos on every single post, link to another related embedded video or article on the site, and on YouTube I link that video to a different related post on my site as well as to my home page, giving lots of little doors and windows folks can travel through.
Alas on my main site, lol, I’ve done little to anything except set it up and let it go. Thanks for reminding me… I need to get my own house in order… someday.
