I think this is one of the biggest challenge for most new bloggers to get consistent comments on their posts.

I also believe it is not due to content quality or traffic. To me the biggest reason of this is,  human phycology and generally people don’t want to be the first to comment.

Therefore, I am looking for around 5 to 10 (more would be good as long as we all can reciprocate and help each other) like minded people to comment on each other’s post.

How this will work

1. I have created a Circle in the Google + 

2. Where I will be starting a weekly thread like, helping Each Other to Get Blog Comments Week 1st of January till 7th of January  

2. Any one who wants to participate in this game will check the existing posts, comment on it and then leave his / her blog post link in the comments for that week for other’s to do the same

3. Current members mainly blog about Personal Development / Business Management & Social Media.

@rshahbaz Great Rana! One thing I would like to add is that comments should always contribute to the post and discussion. Sometimes when doing things like this, you’ll get people who will leave a so-so “great post” behind in order to get the reciprocation. Or, as a participant, you might find yourself forcing comments on topics you may not be interested in. So maybe it might be a goid idea to have a “best posts of the week” thread where we all share our top post and those interested can comment. No one has to feel obligated and everyone can have exposure.

This is a great idea and I know I can commit to commenting on up to 10 blog posts and I agree with what was said about only adding meaningful comments. I know I don’t want the “great post” fluff posted on my site and won’t do it to anyone else’s either.

I am part of a group on facebook that has something going like this. Members feel free to choose which one they want to engage, then leave theirs (blog, reddit, stumble, etc) so others can engage them as well.

Mondays – share blog post to comment on.
Tuesdays – reddit for upvoting, commenting
Wednesday – Digg
Thursdays – Stumble
Friday – Facebook
Saturday – Open for anything

Maybe someone can input as to how we can best incorporate this on SME network clubs? Start a thread for each SM website or something?

@spudty Glyn, I see your point – you probably want posters who are credible within your own market. I’d suggest you start a new topic in this forum, calling for just that. Even if you only got 2 or 3 of the right people, that would be really valuable to you. Personally – I feel so not current when I look at your site – but that is not a bad thing!

We may do that here over time but for now I am just keeping my own commitment – I’ll comment on the first 10 that show up here and offer to reciprocate. I am at 3 so far and open to more.

@spudty Thanks Glyn! I posted. That was like revisiting my youth – I grew up in London in the 70′s. I was totally into the music scene. Our Social Media back then was fanzines we photocopied and sold outside gigs. We lived for NME coming out every Thursday, but somehow, even without cell phones, we all knew about the secret gigs. There wasn’t much clothing to buy – we just bought used and adapted. Seriously though… you might have to put some time in, but if you click through all the ‘introduction’ messages in these forums and copy/paste the id’s of anyone who loooks like they are in a complementary business, you could ask them all directly to join you. I think you could get some synergy… It’s all about mutual referrals.

I agree with Phillipa. A Facebook group page would be a big help. @rshahbaz I’m not very familiar with G+ but is it possible to set up a static page for your circle, which only that circle would know about and post to? That could be the other option if we want to stick with G+.

@howwhowhen  I think a secret FB group is a GREAT idea. It gives us the freedom to speak freely within the group and leave supportive comments on each others blogs. I really want to find me a ‘tribe’ of bloggers in over-lapping fields to my own – I have already had the opportunity to re-post some of the blogs I have read through this thread and I would like to continue to do so.
