Have you heard of this traffic source? (5 posts)

  • Hi everyone,

There’s many ways to drive traffic and I’ve been experimenting with quite a few of them.

I just relaunched my blog about 2 weeks ago and I’ve been on a mission to drive as much traffic to it as I can, without the use of seo.

Through my traffic escapades, I’ve discovered some awesome traffic points that have been working great for me. And I wanted to share one of them with you.

I’ve recently come across a cool site called Scoop.it. Let me tell you, this is one awesome website. It’s a content curating site that is a potential traffic beast.

I’ve been using this site to get further exposure to my blog and it’s proven to be a decent traffic source for me.

I submitted my blog posts to influential content curators that get a lot of views and have large audiences. The curator can either accept or deny your submission. If accepted, your blog post will show up on their Scoop.it page where tons of eyes will oggle it, possibly rescoop it and send tons of traffic.

Scoop.it has been in my top 5 referrers so far and has been sending me a pretty steady stream of traffic.

Here’s an example of a blog post I submitted to Ileane Smith of BasicBlogTips.com Scoop.it page:

Here’s a screenshot of the traffic Scoop.it’s sent me so far:

That’s 78 extra visitors to my site that I wouldn’ve gotten other wise.

This is pretty good just starting out and I believe my traffic from Scoop.it will grow significantly over the next few weeks.

I submitted two blog post to Ms. Ileane’s Scoop.it page and in return I received more exposure, traffic and built an awesome relationship with an very influential blogger (this could be beneficial in the future when I begin delving into additional traffic streams such as guest blogging and webinar swaps).

I’m pretty excited about discovering Sccop.it. I think it’ll be a long term part of my traffic strategy.

Scoop.it is only one of several sources I’m using to drive traffic to my blog. I’ve released an in depth traffic case study breaking down all my current traffic sources. The first of an on going weekly series.

So tell me, what traffic sources are you currently using? What results are they yielding you? Can you suggest any additional traffic sources you think might be helpful?

  • You mention Scoopit but on your blog you promote BizSugar….. Which one are you actually recommending.?

  • Hi Dave,

In this particular forum post I’m specifically sharing the results I’ve gotten from Scoop.it.  I also mentioned that over on my blog, I’ve done an in depth traffic case study that breaks down all of the traffic sources that I’ve been using to drive traffic to my blog.  BizSugar is one of them and I highly recommend them as well.  However, if you go through my entire traffic case study, you’ll see where I talk about Scoop.it as well as several other traffic sources I’ve used.

I hope this explanation helps you.
    Thanks for your response!

  • @klg007 So glad you like it!  Yes, Scoop.it is definitely becoming a rather hot place to drive traffic fairly quickly. Thanks for reply to my thread and I’d love to hear your results you try the strategy out for yourself.
    Ti :)
