  • Hey Max,

Thanks for your question. I LOVE the specificity and wish everyone would communicate with this kind of clarity! :)

    Here are 5 tips:

    1. Start with absolute clarity about what you want. You already have a good specific goal. Now break this down into individual milestones that will create a plan to get you there. What is the combination of products and services you’re going to create/sell, and at what price points? Reverse engineer to create a specific plan. Have a goal for what you want (lifestyle, impact, etc.) in addition to the money.
    2. Get to know your target market in great detail.  What do they really want? What do they need? What are their biggest frustrations? What keeps them up at night? Understand and solve these and you’ll be in great shape.  (Hint: Get to know them online and at events and listen to what they’re saying).
    3. Create a strategic communication plan. How often are you going to communicate with your target customers and in what format? For example, how many emails will you send with what content? How often will you post on FB, Google+ and other social media channels? What offers are you going to make and how often? Biggest mistake people make: (1) never ask their list to buy anything – are so focused on adding value, they never ask for the sale or (2)
    4. Mix up your content so that there are actionable tips and strategies but also some personal info from you (real and authentic). People want easy-to-use tools and info that work (most important) but they will respond MUCH more if there is a real, authentic, imperfect but caring person behind it all who they can connect with.
    5. Build your list. There is no magic bullet – there are 20 of them. But this has to be a focus for any business owner.  The days of “if you build it they will come” are over. Become a student of how to convert leads and prospects into customers (people opt-ed into your list). Your greatest assets as a business will be (1) your list (2) your content/products.

Hope this helps!  Couldn’t leave it to three as I felt all five are important for you.  Big goal needs good input.  Love it!  Stay in touch!
