Where do I place the”by” line in my Wordpress blog so that my picture shows up beside my blog articles for searches. I tried putting it in the meta description section and that doesn’t appear to be the right place. Thanks.

I read that and submitted my email. However, it says to put the byline in the content? However, when you look at the example, the byline is in the meta description. That’s what confused me. Thanks, Kristi. Iguess I put it at the beginning of my blog post?

Hi Mary, your Wordpress theme will either automatically add your “byline” (author name, published date, number of comments, etc) to your posts and pages, or your theme will provide a design option which will allow you to choose which attributes you want shown in your byline.
Most themes show the byline (author, date posted, etc) at the top of each post.

Thanks, Glen. I put the wrong email address into Google+ and I don’t have a Google Authorship plugin. Have to work on both of these issues and follow your instructions.

@glenandrews Got tthe plug-in installed. How do I paste the code into the widget area? There doesn’t seem to be a place to do so and I’m not seeing a Google authorship widget box? I’m using the Striker theme

Our authorship plugin works for multi-author WP sites as well as single author ones and we’re pretty responsive when it comes to helping people too.

Hi Mary, sorry for the late reply. I was out of the sates for 2 weeks with family.
Not sure if you received the answer you needed about “how do I paste the code into the widget area.”
Take the code from Google and paste it into your widget section by dragging the “Arbitrary text or HTML” box into the sidebar area. Then paste the Google code into the area provided.
