FREE BLOG V ARTICLE DIRECTORY? (5 posts)

Topic tags: SEO
  • Having written your fantastic piece of content where would it get better SEO rankedĀ  on a free blog (e.g. blogger blog, squidoo, hubpages) or submitted to the article directories?

  • If you post it then perform proper cross pollenation to your twitter google plus and fb page then it won’t matter.
Wordpress is still king of blogs so there you go. Your content will be ranked by how well you write it to your keywords.

  • @nickmessenger Have you considered repurposing the topic into both a blog post and an artcle? An article can be much longer than a blog post, in my opinion. If you expand the  idea furtherer and make some changes (maybe more images, more supporting commentary, etc) you can get double duty from the topic and have both.

  • An article is for all intents and purposes is a blog entry in modern media. If you are looking to get it out there make sure you have the proper share buttons enabled on your website. If your readers like your post they will not hesitate to she it. Your writing should do the work for you. Certainly take a multi platform approach to getting your blog entry out there. Tweet about it post it to fb and g+ as well as getting itfront and center on your web site. I would consider it bad form for you to post it to reddit or delicious or what not yourself.

  • @nickmessenger The nice thing about a site like HubPages, Squidoo, and EzineArticles is that they already have an established network with traffic. HubPages especially has a nice community, so if you comment on a few other hubs in your industry, you’ll attract other HubPage users to your posts.  Plus you don’t have to be a big user to have your hub/article selected as a good one by the moderators. I created one for a client on a new account that made the top 10 hubs for the day / week which meant it was emailed out to all HubPages members.  Lots of traffic for that one!  Free blogs on Blogger or WordPress, on the other hand, would require you to promote it out on social media to attract traffic.
