Font Junkies – Are you one too? (4 posts)

  • Hiya Folks.

I’m a font junkie.  It’s been awhile since I’ve really perused fonts though as I am also a gadget junkie and there are so many new gadgets out there that I’ve been busy perusing and comparing.  *sigh  *yeesh

I also did not know where to put this as it is not a question and not even particularly business biz but a mix of graphic design and branding.

SO, I’d like to see some font favorites and or hear your take on how a font projects a particular image; name the font you feel works for a particular scenario and provide a link if you can so we can view the font.

I think this will be a fun exercise if nothing else.

  • I like Calibri because it’s clean, relatively condensed and is available on most systems. I also like that the bold and regular aspects of the font are different enough as to be noticeable without being overpowering.

I also like Franklin Gothic but not all systems seem to have all the variations needed.

  • Hi Kathy @kathybernard

Calibri is a good font for documents – I use it too.  Franklin Gothic is a great font for headlines and you’re right – not all systems have that.

I have a hard time keeping my favorite fonts within the 500 limit and have to switch them out regularly.

  • I was when I was in college, I downloaded so many fonts, it was never enough lol.but a year ago my computer crashed and my hard drive commited suicide and I lost everything (oh, the bad memories!! lol) and I lost all my fonts… so I learned so just use simple fonts like calibri or even arial. And for websites is better because fancy fonts doesn’t work in websites.this in websites, but when I have to design something in photoshop, my craziness for fonts come back to me full force lol.
