Because sharing all of my family business with my customers is not an appealing idea, I’m still searching for a solution to this problem of linking all of my social media…is it possible to separate the two? Or, if not, to close out a personal Facebook page completely, and start over as a business page, and if so, will the past personal information be accessible to anyone? Thanks for any responses!

@mssilvr You can always go with a personal profile on Facebook just for friends and a Facebook page for your business persona. While there are lots of great privacy settings on Facebook for personal profiles, you have to keep an eye out for any changes Facebook makes – sometimes they will update their privacy settings and things on your profile will get revealed.

I don’t put anything on my personal facebook I wouldn’t want the world to see, even my clients. This way there is no need to worry.

@debtdiagnosisfinancialwellbeingsolutions Thanks so much for feedback, yes…this has been my dilemma about a biz pg, I already have a personal FB pg and so far, no guarantee that all of my family info will not be accessed if I get a biz pg. I never put anything on that I do not want someone to see, but family members do…lol

Thanks @moinshaikh and @kristi-hines also for the helpful responses…just do not think it is fair to open up FB to customers that may be able to see my families personal conversations. It appears their are no guarantees in social media, since it changes daily and it is all about sharing, not privacy. I will continue to check the options for this nonetheless.

@MsSilvr I don’t believe anything anywhere on the internet is safe from prying tracking any more and maybe you should inform your family members of this. I know of some top notch colleges that have required students applying open their face book to them to make a decision about whether they will accept them as students or not. Also, some work places are doing this also.
