”Extreme Couponing Bloggers” Fad or New Industry? (6 posts)

  • I am looking for tips to share with New “Extreme Couponing Bloggers”

There has been tremendous growth in this area for the last year and I can see it continuing well into 2013. Where do you see it going for 2012?

  • I think that people are addicted to this and super passionate about it so there is a huge and motivated audience. With that said, although some of their ‘champions’ may not be inclined to blog, I think it would be hard for an outsider to offer them more value that they get on their discussion forums. But for the people who emerge as  average couponers, but the best bloggers among them, it will be another bonanza. If that is you, and you can bring value to them, then good luck to you!

  • p.s. Neither a fad, or a new industry. There were couponing boards on iVillage last century. Still a great opportunity.

  • @darrellellens There have been coupon / deal hunting bloggers out there for awhile now.  I bet they’re loving the new craze like ballroom dancing likes Dancing with the Stars!  :)

I’d say for tips, definitely extreme keyword research to go with the extreme couponing.  Also maybe some niche research to see what areas are currently untapped and waiting for a bargain hunter to arrive.

  • @abigailgorton Thanks for your input! Between the new couponers and coupon bloggers, I think there is a lot of room for growth, especially in the location-based blogging and growing a community based following.

With all of the new technologies coming out to improve couponing, there is definitely growth potential.  I also believe that there will be more meet-ups and coupon swapping that will add to the social experience factor.

  • Hi  @Kristi-Hines  I think key words will be key, even more if you add in location to the mix.  I think we will see more location specific bloggers in this area.

Your right about the need to do research for developing niche markets. One part of couponing that is growing is the coupon swaps, it actually give the couponers an outlet to share more coupons as well as sharing stories offline.

Not everyone wants to blog about the bad customer service that they get at their local store, nor do the cashiers want to complain about some of the obnoxious couponers out there.
