Evergreen Content? (3 posts)

  • Someone in my industry approached me and asked, “I need some evergreen content for some of my sites and I was wondering if I could use some blogs that you have already done?”
There are a couple of things going on here. First, I’m not exactly sure what evergreen content is. Second, I’m not sure about the idea of giving away our content to reside on another site in perpetuity. But, then again, maybe that will drive traffic to our site??
If anyone in the group can offer some insight, I’d really appreciate your thoughts!

  • @jameshahnii Evergreen content is simply content that will never go out of date. Basically something that you could refer someone to a week, month, or year after you post it.

As far as giving away your content, I typically steer away from it unless the site can guarantee you good traffic. Otherwise it’s not worth risking potentially losing your spot in search to them or having them benefit from your hard work.

  • Thank you for your helpful reply Kristi. You confirmed what my gut said as soon as I read the message. I’d hate to have the search engine signals for that content pointing at the wrong site.

    Thanks Again!
