Comment Plugin That SME Uses? (6 posts)

  • Hey guys,

Does anyone happen to know what plugin Social Media Examiner uses for its comments? I tried to find it but ended up with this one here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/disqus-comment-system/installation/.

It doesn’t offer the feature to have Facebook, Google and Twitter login options above the comment box and that’s primarily what I’m after.

    Thanks in advance!

  • have a look around the Disqus.com site. That feature seems to be in the basic package – free.

  • Thanks for your reply Mac. I wasn’t able to find anything directly regarding the buttons, but it looks like a new Disqus platform is soon to be released (currently invite only).

For anyone who’s interested, you can find out more here. Through that link you will also be able to request an invite to use the Disqus 2012 platform.

  • @completecollective I think it might be part of the professional package - http://disqus.com/addons/.  There’s an option for Single Sign On that allows you to connect with social networks for commenting.

  • @kristi-hines I enquired about this with the Disqus team and found out that they have removed the option recently due to people being more inclined to comment without the social network login bars above the comment sections, and also that the new Disqus 2012 platform will be released reasonably soon which features similar options.

  • Thanks for this stream. Good info.
