Change and Re-Invention Can Get New & Old Authors Noticed (3 posts)

  • In relation to this topic a author comes to mind who literally re-invented himself even though he was making money from the style that he had. That Author is Steven King. He started off with Salem’s Lot, Carrie, Christine, Cujo, Fire Starter, and Pet Cemetery just to name a few of his writings from the dark side.

Many professors in college classes would not acknowledge his work as masterpieces even though he was making decent money.

What did he do? He changed his style somewhat and put out work like The Shining, The Stand, Misery, The Green Mile, and now his Haven Series. Doing this, he has brought a lot of his critics plus a lot of new readers into his fold.

Does anyone out there know of individuals or have you yourself felt a need to change course in your blogs or other writings?

  • @klg007 Great example Kenneth! I actually started my blogging career with poetry and creative writing. Then I decided to start writing about the blogging process which included learning about social media and SEO.

Fast forward three years later and blogging is my career through freelance writing thanks to making that change!

  • That’s Great!
