”Call to action” – Can/should I put one on each post? (7 posts)

  • I am wondering if it is acceptable to put a call to action on each post. For example, is it okay to include the MailChimp sign in form for newsletter right in the post proper? Or should the post just speak for itself?

  • yes it is acceptable, many of the top blogs do that. It makes sense after reading your great post you encourage readers to sign up for updates.

I love the way Derek Halpern from social triggers does it. Its subtle and easy to implement on the thesis theme for WordPress.

  • @lkellandmay Definitely acceptable. My template has a built in ad for my eBook at the bottom of each post and I’ve seen many that have a simple opt-in form. You never know what post people will come to first on your blog through search or social media – might as well capitalize on all of them. Plus, if it’s built in to your post footer, you only have to do it once!

  • I notice that the letter that we get from this site has a sign up block in the top right corner and at the bottom is a set up for RSS etc. Some people have a very large sign up across much of the top of their page….. Some writers advocate that you use three areas…. I think a person who is providing good content is entitled to ask for followers and also ask for social media clicks as well…

  • @lkellandmay I think each page or piston a website should be handled like a landing page with all your contact info and most recent offer at the viewers fingertips. Make life easy for the viewer.

  • YES! YES! YES! Try creating a nice graphic that you can add to the bottom of each blog post that links to your landing page.

  • @michaelpingree Why use a graphic that Goole can not see or read?
