Blogs across all platforms? (8 posts)

  • Looking for everyones insight, What does everyone think about posting your blog across all your social media platforms? Too much to much of the same audience or good idea? I have mixed feelings.

  • ^too much, too much of the same audience, or good idea? sorry thought that sentence was confusing.

  • Depends on if you have a small audience that will absolutely see the same promotional message on all platforms. I only have a small segment of the audience that sees me both on Facebook and on Twitter. So if I ever cross-promote, I don’t worry about spamming that small segment (most of them are in social media too, so they understand what I’m doing anyway).

  • @ryrussell I think that it depends on your target audience. Where do they hangout, who are the influencers in your niche business. You need to get your messages read by them. At the end of the day it is not just throw your blog post out there and hope it sticks somewhere.

  • @ryrussell I agree with  @ptwylie and  @erikdeckers…You certainly don’t want to over saturate yourself as that may backfire on you. However, it seems wise to have the right amount of exposure across multiple platforms to reach all those in your niche market.

  • @erikdeckers @ptwylie @jay_rombach Thanks gents, great feedback. I was having this conversation the other day with someone and I completely agree. Especially if you have many of the same people on all platforms. If you don’t then certainly, I think you just need to figure out which platform audience wants what content.

  • @ryrussell I find that different segments of my audience may be on all platforms, but they only pay attention to one or two of them.  For example, if I just hare my posts on Twitter, the people who follow me closely only on Facebook will miss them.  I have a few influencers that I notice will only retweet my post if I share it on StumbleUpon or Google+.  It’s really trial and error – try sharing on one network one day, then another network the next to see if anything picks up.

  • @kristi-hines Great input! Totally agree, I mean split testing is the best way to track effectiveness.
