Hey I have a website http://www.travelsenseindia.com, a boutique travel company for tours to India and I am in the process of starting a blog for the website called http://www.theindianmile.com. The blog will talk about travel tips for India, culture, festivals, How to and other India travel related stuff. The idea behind the blog is to provide useful free content to create awareness for the company and drive sales.
My question is is it a good idea to have the blog name and the company website name different. Should the blog be http://www.travelsenseindia.com/blog??
Any advice is welcome and also any opinions on the website will also be greatly appreciated.

Hi Udit, my take on this is, create a hub. A hub is a combination of a website and blog on one domain name.It is easier for the visitors to find the blog and website.It is less clicks to move from a post to the products overview page for example.It is good for SEO and traffic. The posts in the blog will drive traffic via the search engines. Good content also gets links from other blogs. These link also to your main domain.If you use two separate domains you need to put effort in building both domains in the search engines.

@udithooda I usually suggest putting the blog on the same domain as the main website. This way, any traffic, links, etc. that you build to the blog will also count towards building the authority of your main website. :)

@udithooda You have gotten really smart advice. I have clients all the time with separate websites and blogs and they complain because their have low listing in search results on their site. Put them together to get the most benefit from all of your work.
