Is there a Wordpress plug-in for an author link/tag that JesseStay mentioned on SMSS12 Google+ session.
This would show who authored the article and helps ranking.

To make sure you have yours implemented correctly, you can use this tool from Google – the Rich Snippets Tool. You can plugin a URL from your blog and see if it picks up the author’s Google+ profile.

Dee, to be honest with you, I have a multiple author blog and none of those plugins ever worked with my theme, so I had my WordPress developer do a hack. That being said, even if the results are correct in the Rich Snippets Tool, there could be a variety of reasons why Google will still not show the proper avatar in Google Search Results. It comes down to scanning all of your website code as well as all of your Google+ profiles to make absolutely sure that everything is pointing to the right property and that there is nothing that points elsewhere.
