  • I am looking for a way to sell downloadable information products. Is anyone using Premise or Premise 2.0 with your wordpress site? Do you have to have a self hosted wp to use it? Is it the best deal out there?

  • @deairby Hi Dea Happy Easter weekend! I am going to bookmark your post. I am interested on this topic as I just installed the Premise 2 plugin for a client and will be using it for landing pages. Everything I have read has been positive. What worries me can a novice designer (me) be able to post a landing page without difficulty?

  • I highly recommend using Clickbank for info products.

Paul, by using Wordpress, anyone can do landing pages very easily.

  • @deairby Premise is a plugin, so you would need a self-hosted WordPress website to use it.  Premise will just help you design landing pages though. You would also need another service to actually sell the product.

I personally use Ejunkie because it’s only $5 a month (unless you have a lot of products) and you get to pay your affiliates monthly, regardless of how much they make.  Clickbank, on the other hand, only pays out affiliates when they meet a minimum threshold (lowest is $50).  So if your affiliate only sells one of your products and makes $25 in commission, but they don’t sell anything again, not only do they not get that $25, but Clickbank will start charging them a dormant fee which will slowly wittle that $25 down to nothing unless the affiliate sells more.  So if you want to ensure that your affiliates all get paid, go with Ejunkie.

  • I picked up a copy of Premise some time ago during one of their early special offers. Although I haven’t used it much, the latest upgrade does include the ability to add member restricted access and digital downloads. It also integrates with PayPal and Authorize.net and you can create your own check out pages but I don’t see anything for accommodating affiliates.

I have used Ejunkie and although I found it a little hard to navigate, you can’t beat the price.

  • I purchased Premise when it was released, but never found the time to use it. I recently “forced” myself to create a landing page using Premise and I must admit, it was quite easy.

It comes with lots of extras like clip art and copywriting tutorials. It also links easily to most email marketing services, such as Aweber, which make adding an opt-in for easy.

  • I like Premise. It is mainly to build a good sales or landing page. For selling I use a shopping cart that works really well in the Netherlands.

An example page I build with Premise (2.0)http://ernohannink.com/attract-clients-and-grow-your-business-bronze-program/
